Southern Chicago, a southern-themed restaurant to be located in the South Loop, will utilize over 6,000 square feet of space at 2000 S. Wabash. Xavier Moody and Troy Vivrett, whose business is a recipient of a $250,000 community development grant, are eyeing a spring opening.
@garpo3000@Eric_Erins It isn't really worth engaging any further but let's just say I haven't had the same experience over a pretty long period of time, and the data for the type of crimes that actually hurt people back me up, so ...
@garpo3000@Eric_Erins That's anecdotal. Take a look at the maps in this S-T analysis - pretty much the same homicide rate for all of the north side neighborhoods.

@garpo3000@Eric_Erins After eight years of living in/around RP I've found that it's very chill and quiet. But violent crime here is really just as low as Lincoln Park, Lakeview, etc. If you're someone who doesn't need to go out to bars/restaurants constantly, it's a pretty solid place to live!
@Spiderperson123@small4lyfe@CTULocal1 If a teacher tests positive - pretty much a certainty for each and every one during this surge, they have to quarantine for 10 DAYS. It isn't laziness - it's not wanting to get screwed over by CPS. Remote makes more sense for the next two weeks or so.
@chicag0wl The city needed investment in public transportation ~70 years ago and refused thanks to the Big 3. This, plus racial unrest and the decline of manufacturing, were devastating to a level no other city has seen. That being said, Detroit is growing, albeit slowly, from the core out.
@NicolasHenkel He's going to hit a ton of doubles that would otherwise be singles and triples that would otherwise be doubles at CoPa, which isn't really a bad thing.
Have watched Javy Baez a ton, and he is indeed a fun watch, albeit streaky. Seven years is way better than 10, and I’m excited. They call him El Mago for a reason.
