Big news:
This June, major players in the gun safety movement are joining together for a first of a kind national summit.
We will be marking one year since passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and planning for next steps.
Stay tuned for more details!
Shocker. @andykessler of @WSJ opinion page says “I’m not saying 12 white men would have avoided this mess..” in protest to SVB having black and LGBTQ board members. Actually, Andy, that is exactly what you’re saying.
I’m heading to the Senate floor right now to speak about an important bill I am introducing today.
The bipartisan Workforce Mobility Act bans the use of noncompete clauses in employment contracts. A ban would be good for wages and innovation!
Tune in on @cspan.
Kinda wish the US Am ended on a Saturday or a Monday. Don’t love that it has to share with all the other golf. Feels like we should give the am’s a day of their own.
The Uvalde video puts to bed, forever, the question of whether the way to deal with bad guys with guns is to make sure there are more good guys with guns.
We've always known it was a gun industry created lie, designed to sell more guns. Now we just have the gut wrenching proof.
I’m exhausted. But I’m so proud of what we did together. We passed a bill tonight they breaks a 30 year logjam and saves lives.
My thoughts at the end of a trying but miraculous four weeks.
I want to thank Senator Chris Murphy and the bipartisan group for their gun safety proposal. It does not do everything that I think is needed, but it reflects important steps in the right direction.
With bipartisan support, there are no excuses for delay. Let’s get this done.
🚨NEWS: We have a deal. Today a bipartisan group of 20 Senators (10 D and 10 R) is announcing a breakthrough agreement on gun violence - the first in 30 years - that will save lives.
I think you’ll be surprised at the scope of our framework.
1/ Here’s what it includes:
I say this because it’s not coincidence or lack of effort that has led to 30 yrs of inaction on gun violence. This is the hardest, most politically fraught issue we deal with. It shouldn’t be, but it is. If we get a deal that saves lives, it will be both a triumph and a miracle.
If successful the Saudi backed LIV golf will prove to be a plague on the game. The 48 players who tee off this Friday have exchanged a little bit of their soul for money and they tilt the game in a very bad direction and everyone of them knows they are helping to to sell a lie.
To my do-nothing colleagues:
Your “thoughts” should be about what you are going to do to end this slaughter.
Your “prayers” should be for your own salvation - if you choose to sit on your hands - again - and let people die. https://t.co/qm7W5bMBGn
