You either die a hero or live long enough to start a podcast.
As many of you know, @joinLeland hosts over 250 free livestreams on different topics every month. From AI, to career tips, to admissions, to everything in between. Hundreds of thousands of people watch those events and it's one of the most fun parts of the platform.
So @MikeMella4, @JakeLingwall, and I decided to get in on the fun. Every week, we go live on Leland and talk about important topics related to navigating careers in a world of AI. We've published 4 episodes now on Spotify and Apple Music, and are going live for our 5th show on Friday at 2pm PT / 5pm ET.
Some of the topics we've covered so far:
- What does the future of knowledge work look like?
- What should students in college optimize for given AI?
- Which jobs are cooked? Is unemployment risk overblown or not?
- What are the actual valuable implementations of AI within companies?
- Will AI make people dumber or smarter?
- How do you keep up when everything is changing super quickly?
- What needs to happen for AI to create a richer better world?
It's been fun to use Leland's livestreaming experience, connect directly with our customers, and explore problems that millions of people are wrestling with.

Prediction: work desktops will make a comeback. Just have claude always on, always cranking, employees can direct session with phones after hours easier and with it always on them. What do we need a laptop to do work for anymore?
NBA tanking fixes are neigh impossible if all rules make the draft the only controllable way to get better
But still like idea of 3% odds each. Every loss takes something like .001 odds from the team that won
All picks via lottery, canโt climb more than 15 spots. Unlimited fall
If you want to go really radical, you allow teams to trade some of their pick odds, but can't trade pick.
Every team gets a 1st round draft pick every year, but you may reduce your lottery odds down to 0.1%.
Teams can trade "pick position swaps" if they want.
Radical NBA Draft Fix:
100% flat draft with ~3% per team. HOWEVER, you cannot rise or fall more than 20 picks from the final standings.
Increase cap for rookies so more a sacrifice to sign them.
Remove pick protections.
Fix NBA draft:
Easy enough to solve for those outside of playoffs. Could remove lottery and do a tourney.
Remove โpick protectionsโ on all trades.
Incentive still stronger not to make playoff, so need bubble incentive. Lottery for pick 5 for play in teams.
And go snake draft
Nothing worse then being stuck in a fast food drive thru line. Whatโs taking so long? What are you actually cooking my food in there or something? Infuriating.
@Garedith616 The over reliance on an inequitable committee results in ever moving and undefined goal posts. Also the calendar is bad. Playing into late January while the portal is open is wonky.
To be fair, itโs clearly better then itโs ever been, but doesnโt mean itโs good enough :)
CFP: 16 teams. 2 auto bids for power 4 (so they can have divisions and send both champs).
8 at large with access to ND + at least 1 G5 champ if they are ranked in the top 16.

Super excited the CFP committee gave us this absolute banger of a conference game rematch played a few weeks ago and not some interesting matchup with more deserving team(s)
Playoffs scenario is very simple. Regardless of what happens in championship games the final 2 teams in the playoffs should be BYU and Alabama. If BYU wins Big 12 put Texas Tech in there. Thats it. End of story. Anything else is wrong and an injustice
BYU really needs chaos. Not just above them either. Specifically they need an Arizona win and many teams above Arizona to lose in a bad way. Having Utah and Arizona as wins in the teens will be helpful.
