Even from this distance, you could sense the power of this tornado as it moved SE of Enid, Oklahoma this evening. (23 April, 2026). A quick edit will be released shortly. The full chase edit will follow thereafter. Subscribe to https://t.co/nieJn2YwxP for the releases.
Estimated path of a violent tornado south of Enid, Oklahoma, near Vance Air Force Base. Homes in the Gray Ridge neighborhood were completely destroyed, and multiple injuries have been reported. This appears to have been a highly destructive, violent tornado. I hope everyone affected is safe. The NWS Norman, OK office will likely conduct a damage survey and issue a preliminary EF rating later tomorrow or in the coming days.

I'm gonna go ahead and release this here, as there seems to be some discourse since it was not well documented, as @Tornado_Warned and I were the only chasers with a view of the Kankakee, IL Tornado as it morphed from a stout stovepipe to a large wedge. We were northbound on a road, looking south of the tornado, while most high-profile chasers were to the SW of the tornado at the time.
This tornado turned into a rapidly widening tornado and was cloaked by RFD, moving directly into Aroma Park. This tornado spooked me to a degree as I was anticipating it to be moving more NE vs due East. Otherwise, this would have been a very close-range intercept.
After this, the tornado became wrapped from our view before blasting east. I'll release a video of the Satellite with an evil El Reno-like Meso here later.
@NickKrasz_Wx @Weathethan Arguably some of the tree damage from the tree line just before it went over the highway could possibly line up with the single tree DI to get EF4
There’s close-up video of the Union City, Michigan tornado as it tore through the lakeside subdivision. An incredibly intense tornado with a massive amount of debris.

The scanner feeds coming out of Branch County, MI are breaking my heart. I can confirm multiple fatalities, multiple bodies extracted from rubble. The first responders were asked to group up so they could search with a thermal drone for more.
O Christmas tree, o cosmic tree 🎄
Located about 2,500 light-years from Earth, NGC 2264 is a cluster of young stars between one and five million years old. The stars appear as blue and white lights surrounded by swirls of gas—the “pine needles” of the tree—with green representing light in the visible spectrum.

On November 17th, 2013, a high-end EF4 impacted Washington, Illinois. This tornado devastated multiple subdivisions in Washington; sweeping away homes. Official surveys finalized the tornado at 190 mph. However, detailed cycloid analysis suggests higher winds were present. [1/7]
