It also comes down to the fact without a visible MMR system you aren’t rewarded for beating players better than you. Whether you win against someone 2 divs higher / lower than you, you get the same +1 progression.

Without an MMR system in theory a 3-0 div 5 player has the same chance to play against a 3-0 div 1 player despite a huge skill difference. Doesn’t make any sense when you compare to any other ranked / esports title.
