Yes, obviously #Murugan is a North Indian. That's precisely why his six sacred abodes are all located in places like Madurai near Delhi, Tiruchendur near Uttar Pradesh, Palani near Punjab, Swamimalai in Madhya Pradesh, Tiruttani near Gujarat, and Pazhamudircholai in the Himalayas. Naturally, he married Deivanai at Tirupparankundram near Delhi's Madurai and Valli, a tribal woman, somewhere along the Punjab - Pakistan border. The geography itself should settle the debate 🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️ @vamsi84
LeBron James wrote the blueprint for exceeding expectations.
Here’s how our first-ever TIME100 Sports cover star redefined the modern athlete: https://t.co/VjIOkChMBM
In his first speech as Tamil Nadu chief minister, Vijay said that he grew up in poverty, and that he even knows what hunger is. It's bullshit because he was my classmate in the third standard in Loyola School.
His father was a filmmaker who set up his son for a career in films.
It is possible that like most filmmakers his father may have had periods of financial strife but that's not the same as Tamil-grade poverty. A lot of affluent boys confuse being broke with poverty. Two very different things.
Quick timeline of the takes surrounding Lakers-Rockets, with a prediction on tomorrow’s.
April 17th: “The Lakers have NO chance. They’ll be lucky not to be swept.”
April 20th: “If LeBron pulls this off I’ll call him the GOAT.”
April 22nd: “The Rockets are frauds!”
April 25th: “The Rockets are the dumbest team I’ve ever seen! Anyone would beat them!”
April 30th: “The Lakers are cooked & LeBron is exhausted. Rockets in 7.”
May 1st: “LeBron is going to blow a 3-0 lead & his GOAT case is over!”
May 2nd: “Yeah, the Lakers won, but it’s actually not that impressive, the Rockets were pretenders.”
Checking in on the NBA’s old timers…
Durant’s flirting with 10 turnovers in his first playoff game as a Rocket.
Steph’s at Coachella.
Kawhi’s planting trees.
LeBron is averaging 39 MPG & 24-8-10 to go up 2-0 without his team’s 2 leading scorers.
🐐🐐🐐
With LeBron’s streak of 1,297 consecutive games with 10+ points snapped, the next two longest active streaks are KD at 267 & SGA 170.
So, if SGA never misses a game, and hits 10+ every night, he can catch LeBron early in the 2039-2040 season when he’s 41 years old.
Good luck!
If LeBron’s incomprehensible 10+ point, 17 year, 1,297 game streak were ever going to end, that was simply the greatest way imaginable:
Sitting on 8 points, tie game, ball in hands, chance to keep streak alive with a make or get to OT with a miss, he… made the right play.
Assisted for the open 3. Ball game. Lakers win.
Just perfect. And we’ll never see anything like that streak again.

#Coolie: 🌟🌟🌟
First things first. Loki delivers a superb homage to Thalaivar in this revenge drama, a full-fledged celebration packed with 5-6 GREAT theatre moments. Thalaivar, at 75, absolutely KILLS it with his fights, Chikitu dance, subtle humour, performance, swag & style, all elevated by Ani’s Disco, Mobsta, Kokki & Powerhouse scores. What an icon! #Legend
Ippo Loki ku varuvom. The screenplay meanders along in the middle, the villains’ character arcs aren’t strong enough & the core plot of the ‘Electrical Death Machine’ isn’t entirely convincing. Thalaivar style la solanum na, "Kadhey correct-aa panla avaru."
I personally enjoyed watching Thalaivar on screen, disappointed as a Loki fan & walked out with mixed emotions.
⚠️ DETAILED THOUGHTS. SPOILERS AHEAD: If you haven’t watched, don’t scroll down.
Some moments/details I loved:
- Thalaivar's smashfest. One of his finest portrayals in the last decade. Crazy & insane. Just too good.
- Absolutely loved Upendra’s cameo. The entire action set piece, Kaleesha being introduced with the Kokki BGM. Thaara Thakadhimi Thathithom. A proper banger audio-visual experience in the theatre. SCREAMER Uppi’s screen presence & calling Deva as "Anna".
- Deva delivering a huge monologue to Simon & revealing at the end he was the one who killed his dad Xavier & we are then shown the B/W negative image from the 30 YO flashback & the"PAAM PAAM PAAM" Powerhouse beat drops. WHAT A MOMENT. Pure goosebumps & one of the best theatre moments ever for me.
- The climax de-aging portions & making him sound like 80s/90s Rajni was lit.
- The pre & post-interval stretch with Sathyaraj revealing the word "Powerhouse."
- Dayal. Seriyaana performance by Soubin. I could relate his character to “the ugly” from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. He wasn’t just a pure villain, he was a “rat.” In Hollywood gangster slang, a rat is more hateable than a snake because it slyly looks for chances to climb up. Soubin nailed that portrayal.
- Kalyani’s heel turn was a decent twist.
WHAT DIDN’T WORK FOR ME:
- Simon was the biggest bummer. His style, the swagger, the 'I am the Danger' song - all hyped up, but when he’s actually on screen, he never felt like a dangerous villain. His character just wasn’t written strong enough to make us fear him. We don't feel his pain when his son gets killed. He himself gets killed 15-20 minutes before the climax without putting up a great fight, which completely deflated his presence.
- Dayal's performance is fantastic, but his character meanders along here & there. Him taking Preethi to Kerala & aimlessly chasing her in the train for ages went on & on. Could have killed her off a million times, cinematic liberty didn’t allow him to, that’s ok, but doesn’t land on screen.
- Shruti’s character after a point just falls too flat & feels dumb. Felt like Dasavatharam Asin in the 2nd half. The whole 'Preethi is Deva's daughter' twist. Doesn't land at all & I don't get why he doesn't reveal in the end that he is her father
- Sathyaraj's Rajasekhar: the whole basis of the story is Thalaivar taking revenge for his friend. But the Deva-Rajasekhar friendship arc itself isn’t established well enough for us to feel the weight of the revenge.
- The core concept of the 'Electric Death Machine' developed to dispose of cats & dogs.
- Dahaa cameo, nowhere near the impact of Rolex.
OVERALL VERDICT:
If you’re a Thalaivar fan, this is a proper star vehicle. Enaku kadha lam vena, Thalaivar'a screen la enjoy pannanum with great action & theatre moments na, the movie is worth the ticket. But if you’re walking in expecting a 100% Loki masterclass screenplay with depth, gripping narration & airtight writing, great villains, you might be disappointed.
Jailer remains the best Rajni movie for me since Enthiran.
50 years . 1 throne. 1 man.
Let us all celebrate the golden jubilee of Thalaivar Superstar @rajinikanth with #Coolie from tomo 🔥
With the blessings of the almighty and the love from all of you 🙏🏻
