Wray Castle 🌳

Built in 1840, Wray Castle was originally a private residence, before being acquired by the National Trust in 1929. It’s now open to the public, but between 1958 - 98 was used by the Merchant Navy as a training college for radio operators. #History

🌳 Centenary Stones 🌳

Commissioned in 1995, this sculpture celebrates 100 years of @nationaltrust. It lies on the shores of Derwentwater, an area in the Parish once looked after by Hardwicke Rawnsley, one of the three founders of the National Trust. 🌳
