I agree...our governance structure has collapsed in balochistan and it is not interested in anything. If it would have been a proper service oriented provincial govt then all wud have been fine. The biggest task first is to make it a fully functional as a public service delivery.

Pleased to meet British High Commissioner Jane Marriott to discuss strengthening Pakistan–UK trade and investment ties. We agreed to deepen business-to-business cooperation and work towards upgrading the Trade Dialogue into a more structured economic partnership.

Pakistan remains committed to tariff rationalisation, digitalisation and regulatory reforms to support SMEs, exporters and e-commerce.

We look forward to the next Pakistan–UK Trade Dialogue which would pave forward the path towards collaboration in joint investment, trade and economic cooperation.

Productive meeting today with the delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries (ICSTSI). We discussed strengthening SMEs, simplifying regulations, expanding the tax base through facilitation, and improving the ease of doing business.

We also welcomed proposals for dedicated SME industrial zones and greater public-private collaboration to accelerate industrial growth, investment, exports, and sustainable employment. Pakistan’s SMEs remain at the heart of our economic future.

The sector is very keen in organising itself in a dedicated cottage industrial area where all such scale manufacturers can have opportunities. And, request if honourable Prime Minister could do this favour for all traders association Islamabad.

Pleased to meet the Meta delegation and welcome their initiative to train 1,000 Pakistani SMEs in digital business and AI skills.

Met with the leadership of Samsung Pakistan and Lucky Group CEO Mohammed Ali Tabba to discuss the future of Pakistan’s mobile manufacturing industry.

Samsung to use Pakistan not only as a manufacturing base but also as a regional hub for smartphone exports. We also discussed certified refurbishment, greater local value addition, technology transfer and a policy framework that supports investment, innovation and exports.

Pakistan is ready to partner with global technology leaders to create jobs, strengthen industrial capacity and enhance export competitiveness.

SME Definition has been revised by the SBP, increasing the threshold from Rs. 800 million to *Rs. 2,000 million*.

This adjustment addresses the longstanding concerns of SMEs, a demand which the industry has been asking for a very long time.

Signing of the Digitalization Agreement between the National Tariff Commission (NTC) and Pakistan Single Window (PSW).

Met with the delegation of SPEC Refinery Pvt Ltd led by Chairman Mr. Zafar Sheikh to discuss Pakistan’s first Deep Conversion Greenfield Refinery Project at Hub, Balochistan.

The proposed investment is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s energy security, promote industrial development, create around jobs, and pave the way for downstream petrochemical industries.

Pakistan’s strategic location at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Western China offers immense opportunities for large-scale industrial and energy investments. Projects like the Hub Refinery will contribute to industrial modernization, import substitution, employment generation, and long-term economic growth.

The Government remains committed to facilitating investments that unlock Pakistan’s economic potential and transform the country into a regional hub for trade, energy, logistics, and manufacturing.

Green field initiatives is something very essential for Pakistan and many industries related to it.

Met with Pakistan Tobacco Company (PTC) to discuss industry challenges, taxation, enforcement against illicit trade, and measures to strengthen Pakistan’s documented economy.

A strong formal sector is essential for investment, exports, employment, and sustainable economic growth.

We will carefully examine the industry’s proposals and continue working with stakeholders to promote a business-friendly environment, expand the tax net, curb illicit trade, and attract investment to Pakistan.

Today in Islamabad, I met with Prime Minister @CMShehbaz and Deputy PM and Foreign Minister @MIshaqDar50 for talks on further strengthening EU–Pakistan ties. I also met Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir in the Army HQ in Rawalpindi.

I commended Pakistan for its key role in facilitating US-Iran talks.

The EU is Pakistan's largest export destination and Pakistan is the world's leading beneficiary of EU trade preferences, the GSP+.
