Israel made history in 1960 as one of the first countries to recognise the independence of Somaliland—and today, it has done so again. Prime Minister Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Sa’ar and the President of Somaliland have signed a joint declaration formally recognising the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
