I’m of course biased but I believe H+C is a perfect first NFT for people to dip their toes into our weird little world.
Especially if all they have to do is create a wallet to receive it.

🎁 Giveaway Day 24
Merry Christmas Frens
Today we're giving away an NFT from @XCOPYART's famous 'Max Pain and Frens' collection.
Known for his striking, dystopian art style that merges dark themes with vivid neon contrasts, XCOPY has become a staple in the crypto art world. The "Max Pain and Frens" collection, launched in March 2021, features 7,394 unique animated skulls, created using a generative art algorithm.
XCOPY's art combines bright neon colors with haunting imagery, reflecting his commentary on the monotony and absurdities of modern life. His work, characterized by jagged lines and glitch-like effects, often delves into themes of death, dystopia, and the surreal aspects of daily existence.
MAX PAIN AND FRENS transcends being just a token; it's a gateway to joining a tribe of 'degens' who are reimagining the intersections of art and crypto. This collection is a bastion of artistic liberty, embracing Creative Commons Zero (CC0) to fuel limitless innovation and collaboration. Holding one of these pieces is more than owning an artwork; it's an adoption of a philosophy that inspires you to propel XCOPY's vision further, sparking new ideas and exemplifying the spirit of unfettered creative expression.

/// #0, Algorithmic [Embroider-able] Edition of 2000, 2023
Released as part of the #velocityseries in partnership with @redbullracing and @Bybit_Official and curated by @ArtOnInternet.
Each iteration from this collection generates a unique embroidery-ready file constructed one stitch at a time at the algorithmic level.
The intent is to represent a sense of speed in a simple form factor incorporating color and variability while working within the constraints of a 15 thread embroidery machine.
This is a really special project for me because it gives me an opportunity to demonstrate concepts of generative production of #1of1ofX physical goods with cost parity to producing identical items. The embroidery machine does not need to be retooled between outputs. The algorithm produces the machine-compatible file at the time of mint, file is loaded into the machine, and it embroiders, removing human subjectivity in the digitization process.
As a result I can distribute a sort of micro-branded physical object for race enthusiasts that carries a tiny bit of my soul for both our digital-oriented lives and things we can wear in person too. The embroidery file is part of the mint, and you can take that file and have it embroidered on anything you want by simply handing it over to an embroidery company with some basic instructions.
The digital/visual output you see on your screen is my artistic reinterpretation of that embroidery file, with some touches of interactivity that help you make it your own so you can display it on your own digital devices or even set it up to print the way I’d ideally like to see it printed!
Each mint will be entitled to one embroidered Oracle Red Bull Racing team cap through a redemption process that will be announced down the line. And I’m really excited to be able to hand out 300 of these physical caps with the associated NFT attached (via @iyk_app claim tech) during the race festivities in Austin next week.
Hopefully we’ll get a bunch of new folks curious about digital objects in a disarming way that does not actually require them to secure a seed phrase until they are incentivized to become activated in the world of web3! Being interested in owning a micro-branded and artistically driven hat should not require upfront participation in our ecosystem, but hopefully getting one of these hats will catalyze new collectors to explore this incredible ecosystem we’ve built and fall down the generative art rabbit hole.
I want to thank @artblocks_io / @artblocksengine for being receptive to building an on demand generative embroidery infrastructure into our product. It is certainly a wild and unproven idea but one that I have high conviction on and excited to see gaining some traction with platforms like @stitchablesio around the corner! Also huge thanks to @numsinmotion , @_GenArtworks_, @luke_shannon_ , @purphat and @shantanubala that each played a role in this project coming to life.
Further thanks to @ArtOnInternet and their team for being open to this in the first place. I was not interested in participating unless I could test some new ideas here and they have graciously accommodated what is objectively a huge ask in terms of complexity versus a straight digital drop. @0xbannik in particular has been driving around Europe like a madman to make sure these caps are embroidered in time for the event, working with various embroidery companies until he found one that understood the concept and could make it come to life.
Also huge shoutout to the incredible @iyk_app team for helping us connect the digital objects to the physical caps! They're not just great to work with, but excited and motivated and aligned in a vision of the future where the digital object is commonplace.
Lastly I want to thank my wife Mara for her significant support and collaboration on this project. Not only did she let me use her embroidery machine to start learning and eventually become intimately familiar with the process of embroidery, but she kept me motivated throughout the exciting but also incredibly frustrating learning process. Together we now have 10 times the conviction towards generative embroidery that we had before, and we are excited to celebrate this project together at the Austin Grand Prix next week. We are both huge F1 fans and having an opportunity to be there and experience that is something we will cherish.
And there’s still time to enter this fun competition to win a Velocity pass for a free mint! LOVING what I’ve seen come through so far, and honored to see artists putting a little bit of themselves into my work. Check it out here:

Very much looking forward to each Velocity Pass holder’s mints next week which will be followed by a dutch auction for the remaining supply up to 2000. 2000 unique artworks, 2000 unique caps, 2000 ways to participate as an individual within a larger group celebrating velocity, color, web3, and the future.
This community is something special.
A highlight over the last few days in Marfa was uniting with so many of you, sharing our hearts and adding them to the wall at the @artblocks_io house.
Here’s to this tradition enduring 💗
