@morgan_downey I took that route myself. I read Oil 101 while working on a drilling rig in West Texas in 2012. I worked my way from the field into drilling sales, then commercial role in Permian water, and ultimately into crude oil trading.
@Jack_McClendon Can’t be as bad as Houston, but stayed at the National past week and golfed at Gaillarda. Even ran super early in AM and saw maybe handful of homeless but still nowhere near as bad as Houston
@RossMackay111 Cadence should really make their own flask, the Hydrapak is a pretty terrible product. Loosens immediately after tightening while running and you spend the whole run cinching the strap.
@stevemagness In Houston as well. I run all my races October-April. Hard to run the Chicago Marathon if I have to train in the Texas Summer. I just do easy mileage (<30mpw) then ramp up in Oct.
@JasonFitz1 I ran Dallas 3 weeks ago, Houston in 2 weeks then on to Boston. Training dont stop! I use Dallas as a training run then get after Houston. Bad strategy? Not sure how I’ll approach Boston, depends on Houston performance.
@SageCanaday Sub 3 is definitely possible with less than 40mpw. I ran Houston (fast&flat) in 251 on 40mpw. But do agree >55mpw you’ll start seeing some gains.
@BowTiedRunning Houston has the Roy Cullen Timing Track, it’s absolutely packed on track Tuesdays. Very popular here as middle / high schools tend to lock up their tracks
