When the ball is down England’s left hand side, they can capitalise on a pretty relaxed defensive mentality of Norway’s players on that side. They do not track runners and overloads very well and it led to some good connections for Vinicius (LW) and Martinelli (LCM). Would instruct Jude to play wider to overload the flank with Gordon with NOR inside. Gordon has good enough passing to find a Gordon depth run and vice versa. An assist from a Gordon or Jude cross looks very possible in this way.
@apcwwfc I might be in a minority but TAA coming on moving into midfield and passing through and over might have been a good option if he was on the bench rather than on a beach! Also would like to have seen Toney for last 15 mins as a different option!
@apcwwfc Also Madeuke & Gordon didn’t win enough 121 duels and go to the byline and put in crosses - every time going inside the getting doubled up. NOR should have started made a difference when he came on.
@wwfcofficial Finishing 11th with a £9.8m loss, but still securing a 10% stake to pull level with the Supporters' Trust; Dan’s clearly good at something! Big season ahead, infrastructure investments are fantastic, but now need to see results on the pitch as well! #WWFC
Ever notice NYC has more scaffolding than any city on Earth? It isn't because they're building more.
It started from tragedy > then it became safety theater > now a $10B bureaucratic protection racket blessed by the government & unions
In 1979, a Barnard student was killed by falling masonry. NYC responded by requiring buildings over six stories to inspect their facades every five years.
Today there are 9,000 sidewalk sheds stretching over 400 miles (enough to reach from NYC to Cleveland!) supporting a sprawling ecosystem: engineers, expediters, contractors, and powerful unions, worth $10B in revenue per year.
Sidewalk sheds and scaffolding are ugly because they're meant to be temporary, though admittedly, they’re pretty nice to wait under when it rains (like today!). Permits are issued for a year (& the whole inspection process takes a long time with all the folks involved), but it's often cheaper for building owners to leave them up much longer than to make repairs.
Many historic buildings have ornate cornices and parapets that might require repairs costing $500k or more, while fines can be just a few thousand dollars per month. Owners often do the math and choose fines. One notorious building kept its sidewalk shed up for 21 years, installed in 2002, removed in 2023.
The kicker is that far more people (hundreds) have died on the scaffolding (putting it up and inspecting) than ever died from falling masonry!
What to do?
-replace mandatory physical inspections every 5 years with more frequent drone-based inspections. Do physical checks when drones identify issues.
-shorten shed permits from a year to a few months so they aren't sitting out there uglifying the city with an exoskeleton
-significantly increase fines so compliance actually costs less than avoidance, and incentivize speedy repairs over perpetual scaffolding.
NYC deserves sidewalks clear of steel cages, and a bureaucracy that values real safety over safety theater!
@apcwwfc Looking at Luton’s press release clearly something off between Blooms and the Wycombe ownership for him to make sure he referenced being wanted twice in his comments!
Absolute joke from the officials Henry - how can Kurtis Jones tackle be “reckless” when his foot slipped over the ball and Havertz two footed lunge isn’t…
Kai Havertz could be off. Bruno Guimarães should be off. Plus some odd yellows for Newcastle. Not the greatest half from the officials/Stockley Park - or certain ill-disciplined players. #NEWARS
That's a red, Curtis Jones can't argue, VAR intervention, serious foul play, over the top on Bissouma. Challenge shown on the big screen, clubs doing it more, but stokes anger. Confirmed why Jones had to go. #TOTLIV
