What does the teacher bee say when a student asks a question about the course? It’s on the sylla-buzz. 🤣😂
Today is #WorldBeeDay! 🐝 Join our @outdoor_ed specialists, Sean and Al, to learn about the essential role bees and other pollinators play in #environment conservation.
[NEW EPISODE] Listen to Kimiko Shibata (@ESL_Fairy) join in the discussion between Dr. Jean Clinton and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry on "What Happened to You?" - the latest episode of @ELLAWaterlooReg Thought Leaders Podcast.
🔈Sound On! These 🐢 moments are always highlights for me. Memorable experiences connecting with nature are crucial to cultivating a new generation of conservationists. @elgwrdsb#takemeoutside#pond
Thank you to @outdoor_ed and @Environment_Al for teaching us and helping us start our Monarch Way Station. We can't wait to see our perennials bloom and the Monarch Butterflies enjoy this spot!
Had two great classes from Sandowne Public School at the Huron Natural Area today. Beautiful weather. Caught 2 newts and a baby painted turtle at the pond. Then, to top it all off, the ice cream truck showed up! #amphibians#drumsticks
WATCH: As temperatures began to rise earlier this year, #WRDSB students, our @outdoor_ed specialists, and members of the White Owl Native Ancestry Association (@OwlAssoc) headed out to the sugarbush for....you guessed it...MAPLE SYURP!
My first ever class at the Huron Natural Area! At the dock, we watched a Caspian tern catch a fish. In the forest we caught two red-backed salamanders, and four slugs. At the pond, we caught an eastern newt, a water scorpion, and a dragonfly nymph. Good work productivity today.
Who needs Google Maps🗺? @N8ureNate shared with us mapping & #orienteering skills today! #Grade6's jumped onto Blair #OEE Centre's exciting trails. Students sharpened outdoor decision making skills with our nature friends 🦅@wttwrdsb@outdoor_ed 🍃🍁
We received an email from @mccamms68 to make sure our newly created Monarch Waystation this past November is in good shape and ready for spring. We talked about our responsibilities and how we can help. Today we picked up litter and tomorrow we plan to make other students aware.
Instead of only reading The Lorax for #EarthDay, try The Water Walker, or Gifts from Mother Earth, or Giving Thanks. These books are all by Indigenous authors, and are way more meaningful!!
These books are in all #LKDSB elementary schools!
🌎🌲🌳🌊
This happened, our first field trip in years! Thank you @WrigleyCorners for inspiring our students to explore and enjoy nature. We have some more classes that would love to come to Wrigley's if the opportunity arises! @wrdsb
@N8ureNate@manwrdsb@triwrdsb@chiwrdsb@OwlAssoc Enjoyed being part of this learning experience- as students stepped off the bus they were so engaged as they learned about Indigenous practices and stewardship of the land. Thank you team! @outdoor_ed
Thank you @outdoor_ed@Environment_Al for a wonderful experience connecting us to the land and not only sharing stories but bringing us in to feel a part of the stories and a part of keeping the land productive and healthy for the future.
Today Dave @OwlAssoc shared two important questions for living in a good way.
1️⃣ How do we take care of the land?
2️⃣ How does the land take care of us?
