@aribindi The issue is with a poor choice of phrasing. You should have deleted the first sentence. You are correct, general obgyns are a surgeon - primary care hybrid more than most any other specialty, and that is a legitimate issue we have been discussing for decades.

@aribindi @AttaboyMD @jbcarmody Many Obgyn programs do heavily recruit existing male applicants already going into obgyn, but programs do not heavily recruit male medical students in general on a 3rd year rotation. So the pool of applicants is small. There is no applicant fellowship advantage we have seen.

@Endometriosis11 Sorry, but to help clarify for patients - cystectomy refers specifically to removal of endometriomas, not other endometriosis lesions. And excising the endometrium (normal tissue in the uterine lining) that’s a D&C.
