Great to have my latest book review in @LawLiberty about Themistocles, an important Athenian admiral and statesman during the Greco-Persian Wars.
I'm particularly proud of this introduction talking about why the study of history and the classics remains so ever-relevant.
Great societies often depend on exceptional individuals yet remain wary of their influence. James Diddams (@JamesDiddams) explores that tension in this review of Michael Scott’s "Themistocles." https://t.co/gI8L98MDS8
@markdtooley@ReallyOldLife And to get even further into these conversations, this conversation with @McGillPatterson about Hungary specifically and Catholic postliberalism/integralism more broadly was also super fascinating. These three conversations form a very interesting trilogy https://t.co/68f4QFEhYK
This was a fascinating, wide-ranging discussion with @james_d_baird, delving into America's founding, the much-maligned "postwar consensus," and how Christians should think about the idea of a religiously neutral public square. Highly reccomend!
Providence editor @JamesDiddams is joined by PCA pastor @james_d_baird, author of “King of Kings: A Reformed Guide to Christian Government,” to discuss the big question: should government promote Christianity as the only true religion?
To get a contrasting perspective, I also recommend this conversation with myself, @markdtooley, and @ReallyOldLife on postliberal protestantism more generally https://t.co/wo4OyMB2Fv
it was my pleasure to join the @ProvMagazine podcast with @JamesDiddams
this might be my favorite episode yet

Communists love to say “yes Stalin/Mao/Castro did some evil things but look how fast their nations advanced” as though without communism Russia/China/Cuba would never have become developed countries
I might drop my only SSPX girl rule. It's way easier to pull a 8/10 secular girl than it is a 5/10 "trad". Trad girls are so stuck up and have crazy standards.
