The impressively preserved forelimb of the Edmontosaurus specimen nicknamed Dakota. Additional work is set to be done on this specimen in the near future, more on that below!
The modern ecosystems most people are familiar with really give a warped view of what a healthy environment looks like in terms of animal diversity and that, in turn, impacts what many still seem to expect in dinosaur dominated ecosystems. Allow me to explain…
Also, unless I'm severely mistaken, these are the first full scale, full body skeletal mounts of Megalosaurus that aren't actually based on Neovenator or some other large theropod from the former wastebasket still attached to antiquated labels.
Which is insane for many reasons!
Some sad news today, Bill Oddie sadly died on July 25th.
I first learned of him through The Truth About Killer Dinosaurs, and I loved his presentation style, one which was hearty, and with plenty of good humour. He was a great comedian, and an inspiration in natural history. RIP.

Future Fossils is developed with the support of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, so we're going back to where it all began: Megalosaurus.
For the first phase, I sculpted a generalised skeleton in my usual style, based on the syntype series & related taxa.
