Property tax is not a legitimate fee for services; it's a recurring ransom on something you already own. Once you've bought a home or land with after-tax dollars, the government should not have an unlimited claim to charge you rent for the rest of your life simply for continuing to possess it.

True ownership means you control it without ongoing tribute to the state.
