@gbs_central Have there been delays with deliveries to Japan? Been waiting since December, but physical issue hasn’t arrived. Sent DM in Patreon but no response.
People in Japan are starting to hug trees in order to keep their local governments from chopping them down. First Kanda Keisatsu-Dori in Chiyoda-ku (where they started chopping despite ongoing lawsuit) and now Osaka (which has plans to cut down 10,000 trees for dubious reasons)
NEW: Japan lawyers’ group urges Tokyo to halt Jingu Gaien development, calling its environmental impact review unscientific.
This is significant. https://t.co/tOyuVPXOMU
A very small project to show support for those concerned about the redevelopment plans at the Meiji Jingu Gaien: https://t.co/EvvuBZzmPc

Note that in the "before" photo above, all the smaller trees and shrubs were already taken out, and the branches on the trees had been thinned significantly. Previously this part of the park was lush greenery. A true before photo would show a solid wall of green.

Hibiya Park is being redeveloped in a way that benefits commercial interests. They are removing flower beds and trees to make room for holding events, including matchmaking parties and glamping. https://t.co/N5ND8JNWmc
Yet again, a public park with lots of trees is the convenient place to put a big public construction project. Yes flood control is important but we shouldn't keep sacrificing trees and parks just because they are cheap and easy places to build things.

#WhereAreTheTrees? While heat in #Tokyo becomes unbearable, for the #JinguGaien redevelopment projects healthy trees are sacrificed for copy-and-paste facilities. On Aug. 27 there will be a festival honouring those trees planted to commemorate Emperor Meiji over 100 years ago.
@TriaElf9@JapanIntercult You only have to take a walk in Yoyogi Koen (or other park) at midday in current heat to experience it first hand.
I've been doing my daily "sauna walks" the last few weeks, it's dramatic the temp differential between open bitchimun/concrete & tree shaded areas. #NoBrainerTrees
