'I'm English champion and I can't travel abroad to fight' ❌
Bilal Fawaz opens up about his ongoing struggle to obtain a British passport, which is stopping him from fighting abroad.
@bbctms with how much I’ve heard about these lights and their shape over the last couple days I’m amazed they’ve gone off due to bad light. Maybe they should have been designed in the shape of the white rose and they’d still be out there
I’m gonna be honest…. I’ll never understand people who live in this country and seem to hate it. Hate England, hate Britain, hate the culture, the history, the traditions. Why live here if you can’t stand it? You should be proud of where you come from, or where you’ve chosen to call home. Respect it. Back it. It’s not perfect but nowhere is. But this country’s full of hard working, funny, resilient people, loveable people. The best people in the world. There’s a lot to love if you stop moaning long enough to see it.
And while we’re at it….. what’s with people getting angry when they see someone doing well? Or when someone’s happy with their family? That’s proper strange. If a man’s out there grafting, loving his kids, building something with his missus. You should cheer them on. That’s what life’s about. Not jealousy, not bitterness, not tearing people down because you’re too scared to try yourself.
So here’s my message…. Be proud of where you’re from, back your people, and stop hating on others just because they’ve got something you haven’t. There’s enough success to go round and nothing wrong with loving your country and your family. That’s something to be celebrated, not criticised.
I love my country. I love where I am from. And I am proud to say it. Bosh❤️🇬🇧🏴
By all means enjoy opening your presents…
your mid morning bucks fizz..
your selection box..
20 pigs in blankets..
too many sprouts..
too much pudding...
a turkey butty..
your mince pie and brandy butter…
But enjoy it by being disciplined! 😉
Merry Christmas everybody 🎅🏻
This guy is called Martin. He was my German exchange partner in 1997. Twenty seven years later he’s just walked past my table, both of us on holiday. I like it when life does this sort of thing.
Marcus started this year not being able to run more than a few metres in a row. On September 7th he is going to run a marathon.
4 months ago he decided to push himself to run 1 mile everyday for a month to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
I met him for his last mile and he told me he wanted to run a marathon in September. I thought it was a probably a bit too ambitious, but I said if he put the training in then I’d do it with him.
Fast forward to now and me and my team visited his home town in Yorkshire to see how he’s getting on, and he has certainly been putting the training in. Over 100 miles in the last week. Insane progress.
Marcus has had so much to overcome in his 16 years in this world, from suffering with his own mental health to bullying to online abuse & much more that is not for me to go into here.
Despite all of that he is an absolute beacon of positive energy and he tirelessly spreads it everywhere he goes. In a world that can feel so negative at times, people like Marcus are needed more than ever.
If you can make it to join us for the last few kilometres of Marcus’s FIRST MARATHON then we will be at the Black Lion Gate, Hyde Park, London on Saturday 7th September from 2pm.
Would be great to see as many of you there as possible to support this incredible young man💪🫡
