@CarltonPalmer@bphillipsonMP Private Schools have had their charitable status removed and as such now have to charge 20% VAT on fees. If the parents aren’t paying their way and the schools are closing, so be it. They aren’t charities, they’re run as businesses.

This weekend I joined ASLEF, the train drivers' union, for their Freight Forum, where I spoke about the need to invest in our transport system, including bringing our railways back into public ownership.

By 2pm today, January 5th, the CEOs of the FTSE 100 companies had been paid more than the average worker earns in a year.
At 3pm the government announced legislation to potentially allow those CEOs to sack workers who take lawful action to win a fair deal at work.
Sickening.
