@DeclanJMKelly@SamCoatesSky I think you'll find that there are a lot of ex-Conservative voters currently voting Lib Dem too who may go back to the Tories in a GE.
The defence row exposes Labour’s fiscal dilemma.
Rachel Reeves is simply doing her job. John Healey resigned honourably.
The buck stops with the Prime Minister. Before he goes, he should abandon Labour’s tax pledge and face hard choices on welfare and pensions.
@HCH_Hill Impossible to say. Clearer mandate from election, better political antenna, better party management, better leadership & clearer purpose even allowing for coalition dynamics. 2010-16 was more stable than 2016-2026. Granted Brexit, COVID & Geopolitics a harder back drop to govern.
@ShippersUnbound@simonmontefiore Agree on all those. Can we also add two hugely impactful elements. 1) increases in things like CGT send messages we aren't open to inward investment and entrepreneurship whilst raising nothing 2) we need to fix social care which will involve more spending for an aging society
@v_j_freeman Not picked up on yet but we also have 3 of the big four jobs being done by women and none being backed. The two pushy contenders to replace a white male are.... white males

@afneil Don't even think Boris had senior minister creds. At least May past that test. Sunak had great potential but it came to early in his political career and too late in Tory period. Cameron, Brown, Major and Blair made big mistakes but were credible PMs.
@ricardoevano@JacquesMaree73@CharlesRTel@bencoles_ Of course. But they've also beaten the All Blacks and South Africa in the last couple of years. Of course Lions massive favourites. But I think dismissing as 3-0 is ridiculous.
@RupertMyers I mean the Tories period can't be put into a 14 year continuous experience. Effectively 2010-17 and then 2017-24 were two distinct halves. J
