Very relieved & happy to pass along that Vladimir was released from the hospital after a month over the weekend. Thanks to all for their concern, support and care. He's on the right path & is ready to go back to seeing some wrestling shows.
Sean McVay nailed the job description.
Be an elevator.
Lift people to their highest potential.
That's it.
That's leadership.
Not a critic. Not a ceiling. An elevator. 🔥
Stacey King a few weeks ago on announcing:
“It’s a fun job, it never seems like work for me. Every night I go to work, win, lose or draw, I’m having fun… one thing I’ve always tried was if you couldn’t come to a Bulls game, you’re entertained on TV.”
This is a message I think everyone needs for their life.
Neil Funk remembers Stacey King: "He just loved life. It was amazing to me, we'd run into people on the street or in an arena and he made every one of those people feel like they were the only person in the building.
"They're not going to make another Stacey King."
Stacey was one of a kind because his passion was authentic and his ability to connect with so many was genuine. His knowledge of the game sometimes got overshadowed by his catch phrases. But man, he knew ball. He welcomed me to broadcast side and made me better RIP to an original
"He made people feel like they belonged where their feet were...there are only a few people that we're lucky enough to meet in our lives that have that and he was one of those people."
@adamamin on his partner Stacey King:
"The New York Knicks belong to Patrick Ewing." —@SHAQ
"We bow down to the greatest Knick of all time." —Kenny Smith
Shaq and Kenny Smith give high praise to Knicks legend Patrick Ewing 🙌 💐
Cookie and I are praying for the families of four great men who recently passed away: NBA legend Stacey King, NBA Coach Rick Adelman, R&B superstar Peabo Bryson, and NFL Coach and former MSU Spartan Sherman Lewis 🙏🏾
Stacey King had big shoes to fill after Johnny Red Kerr retired.
He took on that impossible task and added his own flavor to it.
Then he became a legendary broadcaster of his own. He did his way. One of a kind.
After Michael Jordan scored a career-high 69 points in one game, Stacey King said:
“I'll always remember this as the night that Michael Jordan and I combined to score 70 points"
Amazing sense of humor. Stacey, you will be missed so much.
