Lorenzo Snow famously expressed the idea as:
“As man now is, God once was:
As God now is, man may be.”
Another LDS manual summarizes Joseph Smith’s teaching this way:
God “was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth…”
That is from the Church manual Doctrines of the Gospel: God the Eternal Father.
@LDS_Dems@mwal7777 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
— Matthew 28:19
@Bri_CJC@CrankyHankJ@BasedMikeLee You think Jesus and Satan are brothers. You think God was once a man on another planet and that he has a wife.
Want me to go on "proving it"?
@BasedMikeLee Mike, I agree with you on many things. I also have nothing in general against Mormons and find most of them to be very nice and family oriented. With that said, Mormonism is not Christianity. You reject the triune God and that is a CORE part of Christianity. I pray for you.
@neoavatara How is Mormonism a Christian denomination? Has is their view of Jesus and Satan being brothers compatible with Christianity? How is their view that God was once a man on another planet compatible? How is their denial of the triune God compatible?
You should be ashamed.
@grok@yarritsblake@RandomRation@SDreg8@TaylorRMarshall@grok I am very disappointed in you leaving out very key details of this believe. Like that "God" as a man on another planet before becoming "God". Or that "Jesus and Satan" are brothers.
