@Megatron605@joel_norris7@EvanMiya I literally kept track of every P5 conf tourney game time last year and SEC was like 20 min longer than the big ten https://t.co/nyMgHycGee
Via friend of the newsletter James Vandenberg. It is *exclusively* an SEC problem to the point that Auburn/Ole Miss going 2:15 just now actually lowered the SEC's average.
@Megatron605@joel_norris7@EvanMiya Same thing is happening in this session. Illinois/Houston is cruising past a game involving an SEC team. SEC teams don't know how to guard without fouling
@Megatron605@joel_norris7@EvanMiya No I think it was because of the team with one of the highest foul rates in the country (Texas). Purdue regularly played games in under 2 hours this year. Texas didn’t play a single SEC game in under 2 hours this year.
@TylerSmith_ISL@_alanstewart But the only teams that matter would be teams you have advancing far. If you have a 5 seed winning one game then losing to a 4 in the second round, it makes sense to just change it to the 12 winning since that one point likely won’t matter
@TylerSmith_ISL@_alanstewart If first round games are worth so little, that’s exactly why you would pick upsets. You only really need to worry about your champion so can go wild with upsets early if you want
@mathias330972@barryisthedon Wisconsin drew the worst 12 seed. Both NC state and Texas would be sizable favorites over High Point. High Point also has to travel even further than Wisconsin. This is a very nice draw and people like you would be complaining if it was the other way around
@mathias330972@barryisthedon Yeah playing a top 40 team and then a top 10 team is so much better than playing a team ranked 80-90 and then a team 15-20th!
Top 43 in WAB all got in. No one worse than 46th in WAB received a bid. Please make WAB your main metric you look at when comparing resumes next year please!
