A beautiful fogbow above the clouds on Dartmoor at 476m above sea level this morning 😍

@Met4CastUK I would love to use this graphic for photography planning

A stack of about 1 hours worth of meteors from the perseids last night! Easily the most amount of epic meteors i have seen in one night 😍 Even better when you experience it under a very dark sky!

[Met Office @metoffice]

Planning to watch the eclipse on Wednesday evening?

The best viewing conditions are expected in the south, whilst a weather front pushing into the northwest is likely to bring cloud and some rain

Check our app and website for the most up-to-date forecast where you are 🌘

As we stand here off the back of 3 record breaking heatwaves and huge wildfires across the UK, labour's solution is to drill for more oil and gas... we are fucked. https://t.co/d530jn4GrZ

It will be a record breaking day for Exeter today, or it won't depending which temperature forecast verifies... Amazing to see a 4 degree discrepancy between these two apps on the day...

A beautiful view of our 'Pale Blue Dot' from the onboard camera on the Orion Spacecraft, as it zooms away towards the Moon. Everything that you've ever thought, said or done has occurred within this view...

There is nothing more useless than WIFI on a British train...

First day of spring so thought id post some of my best winter photos. Basically had to get some elevation to find any snow at all.

[James Woodin/Magic Carpet Media @James_Woodin]

Incredible conditions at the top of Helvellyn in the lake district this morning! Brutally cold in the wind but a proper alpine day! Like being in the alps 🗻

[James Woodin/Magic Carpet Media @James_Woodin]

Some snow to about 100m in the lakes this morning! At least 10cm above 300m. Will likely thaw at low levels as the days goes on

This is actually insane to see. I have driven down this road many times and to see it basically gone is wild. Hopefully it can be repaired as soon as possible 🤞

Absolutely devastated to share these photos 💔

@Met4CastUK I'll DM you a few north and south coast options. Don't want everyone else to find out too 😂

Real time video highlight of Aurora over Lake Superior, Marquette, MI from 01.21.2026✨
A remarkable fast pulsing aurora (this is real time video and the actual speed of how the auora was dancing) - by far the strongest what I like to call "burning ember" phase of the aurora I've ever witnessed 👍
(audio is of the lake washing up against the ice shelf, but waves were too low and lighting too dark to be visible most of the time)

Categorically the highest I've ever seen the River Exe this morning (lived here 5 years)

Dawlish sea wall damaged again, 11 years after it was half washed away...
