Ireland as an outlier in the pre-hospital care of people. Not for lack of hard work of the staff on the ground. System changes required - we could be doing much more!

@stevefla We use GoodSAM on our Airdesk. Very useful for dispatching HEMS resource. Great for the innocuous sounding limb injuries that get triaged as ‘urgent’.. video can be great to identify that angulated and dusky ankle!
@aaronhillmedic@CCWearmouth@LukeHouston06 Are your defibs set to synchronised? We use Corpuls in N. Ireland and they seem to be set as such. Pause between pushing button and discharge as it finds R-wave(?). Thus both defibs discharge at same point?
@andykirkland71 Whilst I agree with a lot of what you’ve written, this comment is not quite accurate. Wetsuits can of course play a vital safety role, unfortunately this is not the case in all sea states.
We are increasing the number of potential lifesavers across N.I by activating GoodSAM for ALL registered GoodSAM Responders on 7th Feb 2023. Could you be the lifesaver or the life saved? We want to increase everyone’s chances of survival from an Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest.
Each quarter, the HEMS team hold a clinical governance session for case reviews, reflective learning, clinical updates on best practice and journal reviews. These sessions are crucial in developing the delivery of care to patients in the pre-hospital phase. #AAWeek
