It’s been implied (I want to believe), but for the first time in my 28 years, I heard the words today from an administrator.
“I trust you.”
I was surprised how much it mattered. Haven’t quit thinking about it.
Wonder if this is how my kids feel when I say,
“I trust you.”
FYI to high achievers/straight A-ers/gifted and talented-ers, my therapist says a lot of us get existential this time of year because our whole lives revolved around school and our bodies don't know what to do without it.
I love having a prep/planning period that’s first thing in the morning or one that’s attached to my lunch.

A Supportive & Positive School Culture is the bedrock of effective education. It means teachers feel valued, respected, and heard. It's an environment where collaboration thrives, ideas flourish, and students excel.

So, I learned (am still learning) to let them commit.
And.
It feels better.
There, in the space between.
Where kids have some room to grow.
Mine.
A room to grow.

I’ve never done a Hexagonal Thinking lesson before…. But I’m considering this as a day one activity in AP Lang:
Have them write 6 word memoirs on a hexagon and then have them work together to discuss how to connect their hexagons together in meaningful ways… thoughts?
@MrsBabbitt Pretty well! Actually didn’t take as long as I anticipated, so it was✨improv time✨
we somehow did manage to find ourselves in a heated discussion about what order to add ingredients when making a bowl of cereal? 🤷🏻♀️😂
