From three consecutive seasons in Europe, winning the Conference League, reaching the semi-final of the Europa League to being relegated to the Championship three years later.
An absolute disgrace how far West Ham have regressed. The fans deserve so much more.
Lost our home.
Lost our badge.
Lost our identity.
And for what?
For the soul to be sucked from this football club and relegation.
We were promised a world class football stadium and a world class football team.
We got neither.
Sold a dream. Delivered a nightmare.
🆚Home Friendly request 25/7/26

“Arsenal have been blocking the opponent’s goalkeeper all season long, they would NEVER be on top of the league if we disallow these goals!”
Peter Schmeichel thank you for calling them out. have your cheating title VARSENAL. 👏
🚨🎙️ Roy Keane on West Ham’s disallowed goal for a foul on Arsenal’s Goalkeeper David Raya
"I tell ya what, that VAR decision is a complete and utter disgrace – an absolute joke!
All season long Arsenal have been crowding the goalkeeper on set-pieces, pushing, shoving, blocking – it’s been their main tactic from day one. We saw it clear as day against us at Old Trafford when Saliba backed straight into Bayindir, stopped him from making a proper save, and they nicked a goal through Calafiori. Nothing given. Not a murmur. But now, in a massive title-deciding match against West Ham, when it doesn’t suit them... suddenly it’s a foul on Raya? Are you kidding me?
What the hell are we even watching in this league anymore? It’s shameless, it’s embarrassing. At this rate just hand the title and the trophy over to Arsenal now, because it’s glaringly obvious what they’re trying to pull. Total, utter disgrace."
West Ham United’s impending relegation is the result of years of mismanagement and slow decline. The patchwork football club, in the 60k makeshift stadium overtaken by dozens of better run, historically smaller clubs with barely half that.
Run with idiotic, short term thinking, by a chairman who knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Loyal fans cast aside and treated with total disdain. No plan off the pitch, a confused mess on it, born from a total lack of professionalism and planning.
Fighting relegation most seasons, despite regularly spending hundreds of millions (via payday loans) on old players recommended by the owners’ mates. A few memorable seasons with David Moyes papering over the huge cracks in the poorly hidden running track.
A decade after we left the Boleyn Ground, WHU has never felt more lost. You’ll see few highlight reels from the club for the upcoming anniversary: for the most part, it’s been a torrid decade in the bowl.
If relegation rids us of Sullivan, so be it. But with 100m of debt (how?) and double that owed in player purchases, it could be a long, long time before we’re at this level again. We’re about to find out just how many clubs we’ve fallen behind.

To any young kid reading this…
I’ve doubted myself in every league I’ve ever played in.
Ryman Prem.
Conference South.
League Two.
League One.
Championship…
And even right before my first Premier League start last night.
That’s not weakness.
That’s being human.
That’s being alive.
When I was growing up, I thought Premier League players were superhuman.
Like they never felt doubt.
Like they never felt nerves.
The truth is…. it’s often the opposite.
Social media won’t tell you that sometimes you step out there with no confidence. That’s normal. That’s ok!
You now have to then step out there with courage.
Confidence feels good.
Courage doesn’t.
But you do it anyway. Show courage enough times…. You build confidence.
Here’s the mindset that’s carried me for 31 years.
When it goes well:
I worked for it.
I earned it.
Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
When it doesn’t:
I know I prepared the best I could.
It didn’t go exactly to plan. That’s football.
But Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
That simple recipe gave me a special moment last night.
Leading the team out.
Playing alongside a group that fights for every ball.
Celebrates tackles.
Gives everything for the city of Sunderland.
And sharing it with supporters who never gave up, even after four tough seasons in League One.
So if you’re a young player feeling doubt…
Low confidence…
Or like you don’t believe in yourself…
You’re not alone.
Every player feels it.
Confidence isn’t something you’re given.
It’s something you build.
Bit by bit.
Day by day.
With courage.
With work.
With learning.
Anything worth building takes time.
But that’s what makes it so worthwhile!
Thank you @SunderlandAFC ❤️🤍
@Gregtempest All the best mate! From training together at Boston to then being reunited at Carlton 10 years later! Enjoy retirement and I’m sure I’ll see you on a touchline in the near future 👏🏻🎉
@tomread1994 Can’t wait for the gaffer to ask me what I’ve been doing for 20 minutes… “Just been getting him hooked up to the harness and pulley system” 😩😂
