@CoatesJarret#HKR1000 I 100% agree Jarret! I have been using meditation and the other healthy habits I learned from this course to help me manage my stress as you said it becomes very high when my schoolwork begins to pile up.
From using the welltrack app I learned that when we eat bad we feel bad and that meditation is a great way to reduce stress. Not drinking alcohol and eating well is a great way to help yourself feel better. #HKR1000
@Daniell70469531#HKR1000 Everyone skinny and fat should be concerned about heart health, its what lets us live this article does a great job of explaining how to help avoid a fatty heart.
https://t.co/EUa0CCi3E5 This article highlights what we learned in #HKR1000 and that to be healthy we should limit the amount of alcohol we consume as excess drinking will cause long term damage to your body #HKR1000
#hkr1000 Based on the tables filled out by my classmates it's evident that mental health has been an extreme impact on students. It highlights why it's important to try and do the right things to keep your body healthy so that your mind can help itself be well.
@mikayla_tuck@Aaron83687849 It's comforting to know that I'm not alone and that a lot of other people are struggling with mental health as well. #HKR1000
@leguiney I think that it could still hurt the smaller local artists ability to be discovered, some will get through but some wont due to there being an American singer with the same style etc
#MUS2011F20 Due to the overlapping of the American media within our borders there is a prevalence of Non-Canadian talent that gets showcased that hurts our local artist's ability to get discovered. Due to this I think its absolutely necessary there's a quota for Canadian content
@FowlowLuke @McGrath_14 The best part about covers is that they fill the void in places like St. Johns that cant attract many musicians from away, and when your drinking live music is the best.
@Provencher34 Agreed, mainstream music fans tend to stay within their own comfort zone for music and a cover band for billy talent as an example isn't something they would enjoy as its incomparable to radio music.
#MUS2011F20 I agree with Wald's tweet, Mainstream music is usually hot garbage in concert and is better with the autotune present on a record. Today's cover bands play music that isn't played on the radio, and they tend to sound okay when drinking. it just isn't same atmosphere.
@Stephen05997881 Covers can be better than the originals such as johnny cash's "hurt" just because things are mainstream doesn't make them objectively worse.
@JIdinye Would you also use this logic for covers like johnny cash's "hurt"? the original is never remembered as the cover conveys the message with more emotion. The original wouldn't be as known if not for cash.
#MUS2011F20 Artists considered these covers "Schlock" because the music was changed from its original to fit the mainstream, thus making money off the lyrics that they wrote, being unfaithful to the artist who wrote them. These covers should be dismissed 9 out of 10 times.
@DylanCr98568809#mus2011f20 privacy has definitely helped me enjoy what I listen to more. As I'm more into heavy metal it's hard to turn that on around most people as its an acquired taste like wine. I do think that we lose a lot of day to day interactions if we all listen to music that way.
@SheldonRyan1 Do you think that the ease of accessibility and the ease at which we can try new genres is the reason that we see so many different sub-genres of music prevalent today? #mus2011f20
The portable mp3 player has helped shape my personal identity as music is a reflection of the soul and having music be so easily available has made this especially true for people today. It's changed that people don't need to be home for a record or cd player anymore #mus2011f20
@Provencher34 These artists are incentivized to do this, add in a provocative music video with product placement showing a wealthy lifestyle then young people see this as being successful and you have a repeating cycle that continues each generation. #MUS2011F20
@king_ryne Do you think that the media creating these false needs and the need to be perfect is a symptom or a cause of modern culture? Do you think that our society will ever realize that these are all false needs and not important? #MUS2011F20
