NO. Those mice injected with long covid blood are faking developing long covid symptoms because they’re anti social/ weird/ freaks/ addicted to lockdowns/ want an excuse to order food delivery apps 😡😡
Those mice are afraid to live their lives!!!
Don't ever forget that your government upgraded the air filtration in its main government buildings during an airborne pandemic, but not the hospital you attend or your mum's care home or your kids' daycare or prisons or shelters.
One of the most astonishing political shifts of the pandemic was watching people who once spoke endlessly about structural harm suddenly adopt “survival of the fittest” logic the second infectious disease mitigation threatened brunch, travel and consumer normality.
Remarkable.
I’ve lost over ten family members who all but a few were perfectly healthy before the pandemic. From strokes, to heart attacks, to cancer. We’re talking folks in their 20-40s. Everyone needs to wake the fuck up.
how were y'all so confident in saying "we have to live w/ covid" / "covid is here to stay" & now be so defensive abt the possibility your new health issues are caused/accelerated by covid? didn't you understand what you were literally saying? it's here to stay in our air & organs
Covid showed us we could slow down, work different, care for each other, rethink everything. We had one rare chance to build a life that was less cruel, less exhausting, less centered around grinding people into dust.
Instead we sprinted right back into burnout, greed, higher costs, worse mental health, and pretending this is normal.
That’s what makes me angry. We learned nothing.
If you think wearing a mask is “too hard”… you really won’t like living with chronic illness.
If you think people will judge you for taking precautions… you won’t like the treatment you receive when disabled.
Protect your health & the health of those around you.
I talk about COVID in almost every class.
I explicitly tell students not to come when they’re sick. We go over the limits of testing. We talk about what “safe” actually means. It’s not 1 day. Not 3 days. Not 5 days. Often not even a week. If you’re thinking in arbitrary timelines, you’re already missing the point.
And yet, every year, I see the same pattern.
Students “cry wolf” on skip days… then show up to class for two straight weeks, spaced just far enough apart to make it obvious what’s happening. Still coughing. Still symptomatic. Clearly contagious. No mask.
If we’re being honest, they should be missing closer to three classes when they’re sick.
But that exposes the real issue.
No one can afford that.
Not students. Not workers. Not anyone operating inside systems that punish absence more than they prevent transmission.
So we end up with the worst possible compromise:
people showing up sick, spreading illness, and calling it normal.
I’m going to level with you here
Screens can influence attention & behaviour
However, they don’t explain the sudden, widespread rise in violence, dysregulation & cognitive decline in schools since 2020
What you’re seeing is the neurological fallout from repeat COVID infections
honestly, this. i’m not a perfect masker -i’ve been to weddings etc- but i mask on public transport, in hospitals/doctors/supermarkets/if i’m picking up a coffee & so on, and i truly believe if everyone masked a bit more than they do it would shift rates of transmission & illness
“I don’t want to wear a mask all the time” Alright. Would you please wear it sometimes? Sometimes > never. Like just keep one in your bag, and put it on when you’re in an extra crowded place maybe?
This might sound extreme, but it’s not. I nearly did this to myself in 2022 when I hadn’t accepted I couldn’t go out to walk anymore; just 10m walking slower than a 90 year old was giving me chest pains, SOB etc & I ended up in A&E diagnosed with angina, with no blockage.
Perfectly put. If everyone masked in healthcare, stayed home when sick and tested for covid, we could ALL have more options as a society. Instead, the few are having to defend against the many... who are often the people we love and trusted the most.
My GP told me in 2022 that Covid was leading to a tsunami of heart problems. He drew a graph for me and his med student showing what happened after the 1918 flu pandemic for DECADES at a population level.
He still masks and so do I.
idk who needs to hear this, but there’s ZERO data supporting the “let it rip” approach you and I currently exist in
Meanwhile there’s HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of studies exactly like this one, informing us of how exceedingly fucked we are
and the thing about covid is, you're not the exception.
covid doesn't care that you workout, wash your hands or eat your veggies. it doesn't care who you are, who you voted for, or what you did for the first few months of the pandemic.
public health is dead. mask the fuck up.
