I was actually with Charlie at this event. We traveled that entire week together.

1) As Charlie says here, he would NEVER allow someone else to morally blackmail him into condemning anyone. I loved that about him. All this clip demonstrates is that he was a gentleman who believed a personal relationship with someone put that person off limits. He's very forceful on that point, but you might have also noticed he's scrambling to defend your "very fun opinions" that he didn't agree with.

2) And when CK got off stage the first thing he asked me as we walked to the car was how I felt he handled "the Candace answer?" He said he knew you'd eventually see the clip and wanted my opinion on how it came across. I told him he handled it well. And then he said the Candace questions are only going to continue the crazier your commentary got. "We have to be ready for them." He was walking on egg shells, Candace, because he knew he was one clip away from you turning on him and the org.
