@MKTIRB People are too OTT and treat everything like a crisis.
I feel like we're doing solid enough business. It's not all business I would make myself, but I can see a point for every move we have made so far.
We're already excellent, every deal reported makes us a bit better imo.
@Stillmanator Tonight was a fun game to be at, very one sided but Beth's goal was worth it alone. Thought we looked really sharp from start to finish, so many exciting players too with the injury returns.
Leah was the highlight of the night, glad she got that level of reception.
@puxswap@Stillmanator@HenryJackson87 Extra side on Nostalgia Vs Reality:
Arsenal teams with David Luiz, Rob Holding, and Ainsley Maitland Niles only conceded 3, two years on the bounce in the league at Anfield. (19, 20)
Yet somehow, the best defence in the league would concede the same or more...
@SebSB When the game isn't live, a team is losing the chance to score a goal. So having the same amount of time in every game makes sense imo.
BUT, it doesn't change that better rules / application is needed to help with momentum wasting (as it's also what time wasting is also about).
@Jon_Mackenzie Ah that makes much more sense in that context, and I read it after adding more to my original point π
Keep up the great work ππ»
@Jon_Mackenzie Bitesize nature of phases helps a player have a game state to think about - and to understand how their role impacts a teams balance imo.
Love the Tifo podcast/vids btw, agree with your comment but wanted to add from my amateur experience.
@Jon_Mackenzie Practical examples include, coaching the attacking phase, but explaining to my CM and LB to take spaces to anticipate turnovers from a dribbly LM - this was by design, obviously this was their positions for "attack", but we actively had to structure for counters.
@Stillmanator How would you describe Eidevall's philosophy for the game, and at what stage of building 'his team' do you feel we are at?
Highlights of the City game suggested concerning patterns, to what extent is this a compromise vs his vision actualised?
@markbrit_ People lose their minds over transfers. Always want to be right first about writing players off.
We are top, our squad hit our best start in history. Needed backup wide and 6. Tick off both areas and get a promising CB.
Sensible approach. Ticks a lot of boxes in theory.
@Stillberto To build on that, I actually think it's why Taveres kept his place against Liverpool over Tierney. Salah cutting in side is easier to deal with if you have a strong right foot (and Taveres' physique). Downside being the inexperience that cost him on the day.
@Stillberto I can vouch for this as a two footer who played LB. There are so many defensive scenarios where having a right foot available makes a big difference too.
Gives you two ways to go when clearing your lines and more comfort if the attacker cuts in or goes outside.
