This farm owner has bales of pine straw made from Longleaf pine trees.

Each of his employees make $1.50 for every bale they make. They usually do 200 bales a day. He says they average about 20 bales an hour.

The farmer sells these bales for $5 each. Many other places are a lot more expensive people said.

He says these kinds of trees are prominent all over the South and people use the straw for landscaping instead of mulch down there.

Many people said that is too much hard labor and that they have machines that will do that. But the owner said the machine bales are not as good. The machines break a lot of the straw and machines include sticks and other things vs this hand picked straw. He said this old fashioned way is still used by a lot of independent farmers.

$200 a day, $1,000 a week, is not bad money. Some make up to $1,500 a week working extra hours. He said his farm will produce about 20K bales of this straw.

Do you think that is way too much work for $200-$300 a day? Or do you think that is an honest wage for an honest day’s work?

Last summer I received treatment for invasive basal cell carcinoma on my face. In a very tricky area; the nasolabial fold. It required 20 radiation treatments.

I have been using Neutrogena sunscreen religiously on my face for as long as I can remember. I buy it in bulk; because it’s odorless and goes on well. I protect my face from the sun more than anyone I know. (I’m a ghost in my profile pic. By design.) 🤷‍♀️

Hats are my mothership.

So why did I get cancer if I followed all the rules?

Benzene.
It’s a carcinogen, and it causes cancer.
Johnson & Johnson is recalling Neutrogena & Aveeno sunscreens because, oops! They got caught.

And while “benzene is not LISTED AS AN INGREDIENT IN ANY OF OUR SUNSCREEN PRODUCTS, it was detected in some samples.”

Well that’s certainly convenient.

But not after making BILLIONS on the therapies for the cancer it causes, (ie leukemia.)

Imagine what other “colorless, odorless” ingredients are in other everyday products?

If only we had an agency that we could trust to find out.

This is Scotty Enoe.
Enoe is a CVS security guard who was arrested in NYC just over a week ago after defending himself from Charles Brito, a shoplifter, who attacked him, threw him to the ground, and punched him in the face after Enoe confronted him over shoplifting, which resulted in Enoe pulling out a knife and stabbing Brito in self defense. Brito died from his wounds shortly after.

Brito is a homeless man who had a history of 16 prior arrests since 2017 and had come to that store multiple other times to shoplift, but was told off about it by Enoe and said to Enoe that he would kill him.

Enoe is being charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

He is currently out on a $100k bond, had to give in his passport, has to wear an ankle monitor, and has strict conditions regarding where he can be every day.

Enoe immigrated to the US 10 years ago from Grenada, has steadily held a job since then, currently works two jobs despite suffering from sickle cell anemia, and has no criminal record.

I'm not sure why practically nobody is covering this story, but this is pretty much another Daniel Penny/Jose Alba case and I hope Scotty Enoe gets the justice that he deserves.
