QUBIC: AI agents can now pay for what they need. Without waiting for a human. ⚡️

@useQPay has completed its first x402 agent payment on Qubic mainnet.

A real HTTP 402 response. A real on-chain transaction. A requested resource delivered after payment verification.

Why does this matter?

An AI agent working on a task may need paid data, an external tool, or access to an API.

Being able to find the right service is only part of the equation. The agent also needs a way to purchase access and keep working.

That is what x402 enables with Q+Pay:

→ The agent requests a resource.
→ The service returns “402 Payment Required” with a signed ticket.
→ The agent pays through the QPAY smart contract on Qubic.
→ It retries with proof of payment.
→ The payment is verified, and the service returns HTTP 200 with the requested resource.
No human clicking through checkout.
In the demonstrated transaction, access cost 20,000 QU, with a 0.75% fee. The smart contract forwards the remainder to the seller in the same transaction, without an intermediary taking custody of the funds.
A random nonce embedded in the payment also prevents someone watching the blockchain from reusing another agent’s payment to gain access.
The potential extends far beyond a single request:

• APIs that charge per call.
• Data purchased exactly when an agent needs it.
• Paid tools accessed as part of an automated workflow.

For developers, a way to monetize services on demand.

For AI agents, a way to purchase access and continue their tasks.

The AI agent economy needs payment infrastructure.
