Proud American & Georgian; wife; mother of 4; conservative; businesswoman; UGA & GSU graduate; Speaker Pro Tempore of the Georgia House representing District 47
“I’ve known Rick Jackson for more than 10 years as a private man fighting for foster care children when it seemed no one else was. Now, Rick is running for governor to fight for regular Georgians working hard to make a living for their families. I know we can count on Rick to do the right thing to make our lives better and more affordable.”
Thank you, @JanJonesGA! You’ve done great work for Georgia and I’m glad to have you on our side.
Honored to be recognized by Governor Kemp and First Lady Marty today. Serving Georgia and my constituents has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I am grateful to have worked alongside so many leaders at the State Capitol and back home in the communities I represent.
Happy to welcome Jaclyn from the 47th district who served in the House Page Program this week! Thank you for visiting the Capitol and taking interest in how the government works.
Proud to sponsor a resolution celebrating Pre-K Week and the good work our teachers perform for our youngest learners. Georgia Pre-K serves 70,000 4-year olds in public schools and private childcare centers through lottery funds.
Happy to support HB 880 tonight. It is a positive step toward giving Georgia taxpayers meaningful relief. By lowering the state income tax rate, this bill ensures that Georgians keep more of their hard earned money. #gapol
Today is Crossover Day and it will be a late night! Proud of the hard work put in by members of the House. The bills that pass now move to the Senate for the next step in the process. Excited to take part of key legislation in supporting Georgia’s students and working families.
Education is Georgia’s top priority. Proud to have a hand in key legislation to strengthen literacy, support teachers, improve school safety, and expand opportunities for Georgia students. #gapol
I am excited to share some bills I authored, including HB 907, HB 1123, and HB 1293- expanding opportunity and strengthening education for Georgia students. #gapol

I’m proud to have authored and passed legislation last session allowing cities to limit fireworks around equines. Milton residents, please see below for more info on the protections in place this New Year’s!
New Year’s Eve often comes with fireworks. In much of Milton, those loud, overhead fireworks remain prohibited.
A state law now allows cities to limit fireworks to protect horses. Milton has adopted an ordinance that bans fireworks within 200 yards of any property with equines, including horses, donkeys, ponies, and mules. Because of the number of horse farms here, large areas of the city are off-limits year-round.
Where allowed, fireworks may only be used on New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on New Year’s Day from 10 a.m. to midnight, and only if the location is more than 200 yards from an equine property.
View the map and full rules at https://t.co/6SgIi7oObe. To report suspected illegal fireworks, call Milton Police at 678-297-6300.
Please be advised that traffic flow patterns will be impacted districtwide this week due to high school exam schedules, as well as early release for middle and high school students on Friday. Elementary schools will dismiss on their regular schedule on Friday; After School Program will not be offered. Here is Friday’s dismissal schedule: https://t.co/p5wzMC0VJR #CCSDElevateTheExcellence
I’m saddened to hear of the attacks targeting students at Brown University and Hanukkah celebrants on Bondi Beach in Sydney. This holiday season, I pray for peace, comfort, and light in the darkness of our world and for the continued safety of our Jewish communities.
Marty, the girls, and I would like to wish all Georgians observing a peaceful and safe first night of Hanukkah. As we face the reality of growing antisemitism around the world, with last night’s horrific tragedy just the latest reminder of its horrible presence, we pray this holiday brings peace and light to you and your families over these next eight days and nights. Chanukah sameach!
Happy Hanukkah, Chag Sameach! I wish everyone a wonderful start to the holiday season and time spent with family and friends on this first night of Hanukkah.
