The Mayor of Trafford has ended her year in office with a parting gift to the borough's parks, gardens, and green spaces.

Trafford Council marked VJ Day today with a service and flag raising at Trafford Town Hall, followed by the two-minute silence.

Over 200 people attended the Trafford Volunteer Fair, kicking off Volunteers’ Week on Monday 2nd June.
The Fair was opened by the Mayor of Trafford and attracted over 30 organisations to exhibit at Sale Library.
Visitors praised the range of opportunities and the atmosphere.
