@_JessicaDavies When photos of celebrities (women, of course) were hacked & leaked in 2014 I was 21 interning at an English language website in Chile. The director laughed when I said it was a violation to look at the photos. I was the weird one to challenge assumed entitlement to women's bodies
...I cannot imagine the strength it has taken for Gisèle Pelicot to endure this, and in awe of her win against such abusive men
So media & politicians don't need to use it to lecture on what survival is
How to survive sexual violence is not a competition

In 2010 French police arrested Dominique for upskirting and didn't inform Gisele.
They then misplaced his DNA sample, despite it matching a 1999 violent attempted rape.
In 2011 Dominique started drugging and raping Gisele.
She could have been spared.

As per #Frontex Reg. (Art. 59), the #Commission is bound to publish the evaluation of Frontex Regulation by today. MEPs and EP policy advisers still don't know when it will be shared, but many know it has been ready for a while now.

Forensic Documentation of Psychological Torture
Great looking issue of the Torture Journal, including an article co-authored by our erstwhile colleague @JaneVKP about "deprivation of sunlight as a form of torture" (pp. 79-91).
https://t.co/2iHo0nT1dZ
@sondracrosby16@BrockChisholm Medical research suggests that adequate exposure to sunlight is critical to physical and mental health and is necessary to maintain sense of self within a person’s surroundings
It's been a long time coming: @sondracrosby16@BrockChisholm and I are happy to announce that our article "The Darkness: Deprivation of sunlight as a form of torture" is published in the Journal on Rehabilitation of Torture Victims & Prevention of Torture
https://t.co/XCnXpCK3DI
@sondracrosby16@BrockChisholm Under-documentation presents a challenge in defining deprivation of sunlight as a form of torture, particularly in terms of the purposive element and proving the severity of suffering
Adequate exposure to sunlight is critical to physical and mental health. Deprivation of sunlight can amount to torture. @P4HR@ranitmd@The_BMC
