A 17-year-old British boy has had his lower leg amputated after being stabbed by migrant Idris Ahmed, 18, during the bank holiday weekend at Barry Island in Wales.

Ahmed has pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, unlawfully inflicting grievous bodily harm, and possessing a bladed article.

Prosecutors said the stabbing on May 25 caused catastrophic injuries that led to the victim's leg being amputated below the knee. A previous court hearing described the knife as a "highly dangerous weapon."

Ahmed has been remanded in custody ahead of a trial scheduled to begin on November 2, which is expected to last 10 days.

THE PRIME MINISTER's PAKISTANI RAPE GANGS PROBLEM

Andy Burnham is one week from Downing Street. Four out of five Labour MPs have nominated him to lead the party into government. In that time he has not issued a single statement on Operation Hexagon, the operation that hunted the whistleblowers who tried to expose grooming gangs in Oldham and not the men who were gang raping little White girls.

This is not an oversight.

It is the same pattern Burnham has run since the beginning when he commissioned the Assurance Review that buried Oldham's cover up rather than expose it. He knows what silence buys him. It bought him three years of narrative control last time. It secures him a premiership now.

You will have seen it for yourself. Nobody in the press pack chasing his every word has asked him a single question about Operation Hexagon. Not the BBC. Not GB News. Not The Guardian or the Telegraph.

Before it became something they could no longer avoid, it was the same with the Pakistani Rape Gangs. In the end, they reported on it because they had to. Likewise, the same with the post office scandal. They reported on it because ordinary people would not go away. No matter what they did to them.

WHICH IS WHY IT IS LEFT TO US

The Cover-Up of the Cover-Up

As Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham fronted a series of Assurance Reviews. One of them was in my hometown, Oldham. It buried the truth rather than exposed it. Don't take my word for it. Ask Maggie Oliver. She has reached the same conclusion.

We forced the national inquiry despite his efforts, not because of them. Burnham once defended the robustness of a review that has since been exposed as a cover-up. Now he is rewriting what he actually did.

Why This Matters Before It's Too Late

Right now, the national inquiry will not investigate Burnham or his conduct. His deceit is set to go unchallenged. We intend to change that before the inquiry reaches Oldham.

Once Burnham is in Downing Street, the pressure to protect him will be immense. The institutions that failed these girls will do everything they can to avoid holding a prime minister to account. Much of the press will look away, as it always has. So it falls to us to carry the truth where they won't.

What This Community Becomes

This is why I'm turning this readership into something I can no longer run on my own. Red Wall and the Rabble needs to grow into a proper independent investigative outlet, with:

- A professional website to reach a far larger audience
- Video production to make this work accessible to millions
- Research support so no lead goes cold
- In-person training events for communities fighting the same battle we fought in Oldham
- Resources to gather evidence and report from towns the press has abandoned

Eight Years Later

We are not where we are by accident. Every column inch, every FOI, every hearing forced into existence, came from years of refusing to stop. From paying a price that most would not.

We will not get where we need to be if we leave the job to the people who built the cover-up in the first place. Stand with me.

This work is free because the truth has to circulate. Anyone can read it, share it, act on it, without paying a penny. But truth without numbers is easy to crush. Governments do not fear facts. Facts get filed, minimised, managed. What governments fear is scale.

Burnham and the Labour Party do not fear one campaigner. They fear thousands of readers, sharing the same work, backing the same investigation, because numbers mean witnesses, numbers mean pressure, numbers mean consequences they cannot manage away.

This is how the campaign survives. This is how we see it through to the end. This is how voices like ours stop being managed and start being feared.

Oldham Council Demanded I Stop Calling Shabir Ahmed A Paedophile Or Else

Yesterday evening I published the paperwork behind Oldham Council's attempt to silence me, and I think people skimmed past the worst of it. Among the statements their lawyers demanded I stop making was that Shabir Ahmed, ringleader of the Rochdale grooming gang and an Oldham Council employee with access to children, is a paedophile.

The man who confirmed instructing those lawyers was Alexander Bougatef. He is now the Council Monitoring Officer, the most senior legal officer in Oldham Council

The letter Alexander Bougatef commissioned from Browne Jacobson listed the things Oldham Council wanted a court to stop me saying. One of them was that Shabir Ahmed is a paedophile.

Shabir Ahmed. The ringleader of the Rochdale grooming gang. Convicted of raping and trafficking children. And an Oldham Council employee, in a job that put him near children, which nobody in that building ever intended you to know. There was no press release. There was no statement. I found it, I published it, and Oldham Council's answer was to hire a national law firm to try and stop me repeating it.

The letter demands I refrain from suggesting "without any proper basis" that people connected to the council may be paedophiles. Without any proper basis. The basis was a Crown Court conviction. His lawyers knew that when they typed it, because I had cited the conviction every time I named him. They sent it anyway. I suspect the Council spent tens of thousands of pounds of tax payers money attempted to scare me into silence.

The other man I exposed was Rod Blyth. A Liberal Democrat councillor in this borough for over twenty years, convicted of serious child sexual offences. Twenty years an elected member, and when he was convicted, nothing.

I could find no statement from the council he served. Nothing from GMP. Nothing from the Manchester Evening News, which has never once struggled to find space for my name. A councillor of two decades goes down for child sex offences and it is kept secret from the people of the town that elected him. Hidden from the families that gave him access to their children.

That silence held until I broke it. Go ask Andy Burnham why his police force failed to release a statement. Ask the same of the CPS or the editor of the Manchester Evening News why they helped hide the story until after I exposed it. Let me know what they say.

So count it up. Two convicted paedophiles inside Oldham Council. One on the payroll, one in the chamber. Every institution in this town kept quiet about both of them. I made both public. And the council, instead of launching investigations into whether these men had used their positions to abuse children, reached for its lawyers, and the lawyers were pointed at me.

Think about the choice inside that decision. A convicted child trafficker drew a council wage and the legal department's energy went into the man who said so out loud.

I have the evidence from Bougatef himself that he instructing the law firm that came after me. So do others. He copied it to every councillor in Oldham. They all knew what was being attempted. Not one spoke out. Not one.

This man is now the Monitoring Officer. I call him Backdoor Bougatef because he was appointed without due process into one of the most senior positions in the council. I'll leave it to you to decide how that came to be.

When the National Inquiry comes to Oldham, Alexander Bougatef MUST be called to testify and answer for his actions. Why did he hire a law firm to try and take out an injunction against me for exposing paedophiles within Oldham Council? Of which one of them was Shabir Ahmed.
