Christian đșđž đ€ đźđ± - Account with news about writing, history, and other creative topics. Am attempting political detox. Matthew 6:25-34.
I started writing in May 2019 with fanfiction for the television show Monk. I wrote or co-wrote 15 stories for Monk and 5 (or almost 5âmy original is still a WIP) for When Calls the Heart. In that time, I cannot tell you the copious hours I spent not only researching the showsâ canons but also the historical realities of the topics I tackled. In âMr. Monk and the Monster Maker,â for instance, I did a deep dive into transhumanism and CRISPR technology, as well as the subtopic of âediting outâ genetic variations such as those that cause Down syndrome. When writing When Calls the Heart fiction, I studied everything from the type of car Lucas drove at the time to the main players in American bootlegging in 1920. We wonât mention how close some of my storylines came to what eventually aired on television. In all, I have written around 1.8 million words of story since 2019, so I have learned a lot along the way.
But today is a new day. As of this juncture, Iâve left creating new fanfiction behind (I will still finish Hearts Heal Stronger, but it will take some time) and am pursuing my debut novel, Josiahâs War. Writing professionally, Iâve discovered, is an entirely different ballgame from writing fanfiction. Fanfiction was a marvelous training ground, and Iâll always appreciate my loyal readers over the years for teaching me so much about storytelling. But now comes the discipline.
Iâve never been great with punctuation. I tend to be wordy (no comments, @kelleysgirl), and until now my stories have focused on characters created by other writers. So bringing you Josiah Pierce and Emma Lawrence is something I am very excited to do.
But given that this is historical fiction, it requires a massive amount of research and documentation to support the story. AI is helpful in pointing me in the right direction (particularly Claude), but each fact must be sourced because AI also hallucinates facts, which can cause a lot of rework if youâre not careful.
As an aside and for the record, I have rules set up with AI that it is not to do any writing or plotting for me. If it tries to get out of line, I stop it. As a human writer, I understand emotion is more than language patterns, and where I take my characters isnât something AI could have dreamt up. Still, for research and for my prototype coverâwhich I will have done by a human artist if I publish independently or which will be replaced by a publishing companyâitâs a useful tool.
Regardless, this venture is a lot of work. On this X page I will be sharing some of that research. History is fascinating, and I hope to bring it to lifeâalong with its questions and answersâwith Josiahâs War sometime within the next year or so (traditional publishing can take years, so weâll see where God takes this). I hope youâll stay with me on this journey and look forward to conversing with those who are interested.

The Committee of FiveâJohn Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert Livingston, and Roger Shermanâwas appointed to draft the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago today.

Some Holocaust deniers use the fact that concentration camp tattoos only go to 6 digits as proof that 6 million Jews couldn't have died in the Holocaust.
Tattooed numbers were used only in one German Nazi camp: Auschwitz. These tattoos were assigned exclusively to prisoners who were registered in the camp. Out of approximately 1.3 million people deported to Auschwitz, only about 400,000 were registered as prisoners and given numbers.
The vast majority of Jews murdered in Auschwitz, around one million people, were never registered; they were murdered in gas chambers right upon arrival and received no tattooed number.
Moreover, tattoos were not exclusive to Jewish prisoners. Others, including Poles, Roma, Soviet POWs, and others, were also registered and tattooed at Auschwitz. Other concentration camps had entirely different systems for identifying prisoners and did not use tattoos at all.
To suggest that every Jewish victim of the Holocaust received a tattooed number, and to use the limited length of those numbers to cast doubt on the scale of the genocide, is not only factually false. This kind of distortion is a deliberate tactic used by Holocaust deniers to insult the memory of victims.
In the world of deniers, the suffering of real human beings is reduced to cynical wordplay and harassment. Denying is an assault on memory, truth, and human dignity.
Trump V Hillary was not the dirtiest election
In 1800, a sitting president ran against his own VP
They said he had a "hideous hermaphroditical character"
His side fired back over a "Congo harem"
They wrote the Declaration together...

@DolapoHikm56625 Christian Historical Fiction is the base genre, although I always interweave other elements such as suspense, politics, and romance. Josiah's War has all of the above and is broad enough that I believe non-Christians will also enjoy it.
@MrSharonSolomon@Zxckarie@MOSSADil I have no doubt that Nazi's escaped to South America. I do not believe Hitler did. DNA evidence seems to prove that conclusively.
