We celebrate today the departure of Archdeacon Habib Girgis:
Born in 1876, he became the most famous preacher of his generation. He was loud-voiced, strong, and highly knowledgeable, deeply influencing his listeners. He founded new charitable societies, encouraged existing ones, and established other preaching groups.

A special thank you to Principal Indiana Soto, the teachers, staff, families, and everyone who helped make this production possible.
The students made the entire community proud!
What a fantastic performance of The Lion King Kids at PS 71 yesterday!
Congratulations to the 51 talented student performers who brought the show to life with incredible energy and heart.
Even when the Earth looks so far away, it remains our oasis,
a living breath in the vast emptiness, the only place where life blooms in the silence of space.
In the vast silence of space, this image speaks loudly:
We are small, yet we reach beyond limits.
We are distant, yet deeply connected.
And no matter how far we travel, home is always part of the journey.
On day six of Artemis II, humanity wasn’t just circling the Moon, we were holding onto Earth.

Happy Pascha to all Orthodox Christians celebrating today!
Whether you are marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ with roasted lamb, lit candles in the streets, playing tsougrisma, or all of the above, I hope this day fills you with the spirit of renewal and joy.
🚨 WOW! Artemis II pilot Victor Glover spreads the gospel after a safe return home from space
This dude is a MASTERCLASS!
"I wanted to thank God in public, and I want to thank God again, because even bigger than my challenge trying to describe what we went through, the gratitude of seeing what we saw, doing what we did, and being with who I was with — it's too big to just be in one body." 🙏🏻
All 430 of my students’ names are carried on this microchip with Rise! Each name represents a dream, a story, and limitless potential. At our school, we believe every child—no matter their background, language, or journey—deserves to see themselves in the future of space exploration. Today, they are not just students; they are young astronauts with bright, powerful futures ahead.
Thank you to Reid , Victor , Christina, and Jeremy, your mission is not only making history, it is opening doors and expanding what our students believe is possible. Because of you, they can see that they belong in spaces once thought out of reach.
You made history—and you lifted all of us with you.
Welcome home Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy! 🫶
The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
Earthset.
The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.
"We will always choose each other."
Mission control has reacquired signal with the Artemis II crew after the mission’s planned loss of signal. Our astronauts are once again using the Deep Space Network to keep conversation and science data flowing between space and Earth.
New record🥇
The Artemis II astronauts are now farther from Earth than humans have ever been! At 1:57 p.m. EDT, they broke the record set by Apollo 13 in 1970.
Their journey around the far side of the Moon today will take them a maximum distance of 252,752 miles from Earth.
