Dr Twycross passed away at his home in Oxford. He did the early studies that established Morphine as the drug for cancer pain, the authors of WHO ladder & many books. He was also involved in bringing Palliative care in India. He has taught palliative care in over forty countries.

Hospice UK is sad to hear that Dr Robert Twycross has died. Robert was one of the great pioneers of palliative and hospice care and continued to be a leader in the sector up until his death.

We send our condolences to Robert’s family, and his many friends around the world.
