My take and that of a friend...

Anyone who claims they can control the 'Gen Z' wave is trying to sell you something. We are witnessing numerous psychological operations and attempts to change the narrative, but the reality is that it's incredibly tough, no matter how influential someone believes they are.

Today, I had a conversation with a friend who also understands social media and psychological operations well. We both agreed that the only solution is for President Ruto to stop the whole thing, which would help cool hearts.

I believe the government will try various methods, including imposing a leader and negotiating with them, but that will only worsen the situation. Another strategy might be to convince the loudest voices on social media to focus on amending the Bill, but that will be challenging, as the conversation about #RejectFinanceBill2024 is deeply rooted in the hearts of many, making it difficult to change as it takes time to change a conversation.

We thoroughly interrogated every angle and still concluded that the only viable solution is for the president to drop the entire initiative. I know President Ruto has some questionable advisors, but they failed him. If they really wanted to change the conversation, they should have started when it was still young, like a baby.

Now it is too late, and I suspect that any iota of doubt by Kenyans on anyone will lead to one being canceled or labeled a traitor, with nobody listening to them at all.

That is how intense the wave is.

In the end, we concluded that nobody really knows what will happen this week, but only President Ruto has the power to end all this.
