@Haleemah0527 That's certainly an interesting and unique position to take on the issue, but would you agree that getting lost once or twice in your life is pretty important so that you learn to find you way home or learn to find help?
@tteezu Is it concerning to you that an app can so accurately predict where and when a person would go to a place? The article tells us that this prevents people from learning from their mistakes as it just caters to them, do you think this is true?
@UsfMegan Will you now stop using apps that involve tracking or heavy amounts of non-essential data collection? I know tiktok had a scandal related to this earlier this year and a ton of people stopped using it.
The Red Cross's First Aid app is one of the top apps in the field of criminology, this is due to criminologist's proximity with law enforcement who may have to deal with injured persons, having that info at hand is invaluable. Download in the next tweet of the thread.
Gardener's video on the app generation is fascinating and concerning, people should be using technology as an aid to help them live more fulfilling lives not as a crutch to avoid any type of failure or hardships.

In "Your Apps Know Where You Were Last Night, and
They’re Not Keeping It Secret" the authors raise concerns about the amount of tracking done by apps on people's phones. It's concerning exactly how much info we give away to companies.

Davis & Gardner make excellent points about how overdependence on apps can make people miss critical developmental moments, like getting lost or finding something that isn't on a map.

@TheChristinab4 The digital wailing wall was an interesting part of the podcast. Using social media as a place to put feelings that only I should know about doesn't feel like a good idea #Digital_Identiy#EME4390002
@GrothDanielle3 I absolutely agree, just because we disagree with someone doesn't mean we have to draw a line around them and label them the enemy, simply debating in good faith will get us farther as a society. #Digital_Identiy#EME4390002
The idea of staying silent instead of sharing an opinion in good faith is bad and actively kills intellectual thought in universities as Mr. Haidt said we should be giving people a place to spread their ideas and not punishing thought.

The idea of creating a common enemy and opposing groups doing creating common enemies out of the other group for their supporters is really dangerous, and its what happens very commonly in politics now.
#Digital_Identiy#EME4390002
According to Jonathan Haidt identity politics is required to make basically any movement of a group of people work you need identity politics, the problem is the growth of common enemy identity politics.
