MY MARKETING SIDE
You're on my Twitter right now, so you probably know Marketer Me. I spent 15 years working social media campaigns for brands like Microsoft, Verizon, Beats by Dre, Community (six seasons and a movie!), Minecraft, Rock Band, and a whole lot more. Since then, I started my newsletter Future Social, along with my LinkedIn & Twitter presences—I write daily thoughts on social media, content, & branding for 250,000 marketers hungry to learn! I also have quietly just started my own consultancy (more on that soon), and am looking to do more speaking this year!
MY HOOPS SIDE
Three years ago, I decided to make a couple videos about my "adult basketball comeback" just for fun—no strategy, wasn't trying to do anything with it... then the third video went viral. Now I'm "How To Hoop Forever" on IG + TikTok, sharing my life as a 37-year-old washed-up ex-college player just trying to get it back. What started as some rec league videos somehow ballooned into me owning my own professional FIBA3x3 basketball team... which I also play on? It's honestly an insane story—just got back from a pro tournament in Germany. The account's got 200,000 followers right now & a rather crazy view rate—did about 35 million views last year with only 170,000 followers at the time.

MSG requested a permit for a watch party for 500-999 fans. We approved that permit for 999 fans.
Mr. Dolan has now decided to cancel the watch party.
I know this is breaking hearts across our city.
But if there's one thing Knicks fans don't need permission for, it's showing up for our team wherever we may be — no matter the block or the borough.

Okay but actually, the 3 hour Amtrak from NY to DC is pretty easily my most focused work time.
Something about the scenes passing by while I’m typing is just soothing.

The DREAM is for one of our underpaid, work-our-ass-off projects to hit big so we get a huge bag on the next job—not because we should ~pay our dues~, because of course we worked cheap when we had short resumes!
She’d have gotten that big payday + opportunity now, because she proved her success! Now she’s gonna be viewed as professionally immature for misunderstanding the market—that of course she, and NO ONE, was paid well on a movie that was 99% likely to make no money, but then turned into a cultural phenomenon.

By the laws of capitalism, that fundamentally would mean she's... paid correctly
@DragonflyJonez Also, I like Bill Simmons' argument that at some point, we actually do have to knock points off for him leaving for baseball. That the GOAT race is so close that him missing two prime years, then people championing his 6-0 finals thing, is weird.
