Durante la Revolución iraní, estudiantes de izquierda, comunistas y musulmanes se unieron para derrocar al Shah.

Los izquierdistas celebraron el regreso de Jomeini en 1979. Creían haber derrotado al capitalismo y al imperialismo. Pero la alegría duró poco.

Unos 30.000 izquierdistas que ayudaron al régimen islámico a consolidar su poder fueron ejecutados poco después. De ahí proviene el término «idiota útil».

Cumplieron su función y ya no eran necesarios. Los musulmanes siempre habían despreciado sus ideales progresistas y ansiaban deshacerse de ellos.

Una de las mujeres que aparece celebrando en la foto fue asesinada, y la otra huyó del país para salvar su vida.

Resulta paradójico que, casi 50 años después, los izquierdistas occidentales estén cometiendo el mismo error y aliándose con los musulmanes. Correrán la misma suerte.

Israel casi ni se ve en el mapa.
