Beyond the pyramids and the pharaohs, the real foundations of Egypt were human bodies.
People who carried, built, and sustained everyday life — their effort still written in bone. 🦴
👇
This isn’t just ancient history.
Studying these bones helps us reflect on today’s world — where labor, care work, and inequality still shape our bodies and our health.
Archaeology reminds us: every society leaves traces in flesh and bone.

✍🏽 New research on prehistoric Mediterranean Africa at Kach Kouch, Morocco, reveals a dynamic Bronze Age society—long before Phoenician influence. Led by archaeologist Hamza Benattia Melgarejo and a team of young Moroccan experts, this study rewrites North African history
@kach_kouch Hamza Benattia’s research empowers North Africa to reclaim its transformative role in Mediterranean history, refuting outdated colonial narratives. Learn how ancient innovations shaped social identities!
@kach_kouch Why does it matters?
Our findings debunk the myth of North Africa as a “terra nullius” before the Phoenicians, showing instead that local Amazigh communities were innovative, organized, and integrated into extensive Mediterranean networks
