@CharlieGoldma16 I agree that it is difficult to believe that the cat can be both alive and dead at the same time, contrary to obvious belief. #msmithchem
I found it interesting that this theory is pushing what we believe is possible, and displays the state of sub-atomic particles on a larger scale. The fact that the cat can be seen as both dead and alive at the same time brings a unique perspective. #msmithchem
@CharlieGoldma16 I also found it interesting that these atoms can be so powerful and play such major roles in the various types of decay, despite their small size.
An ah-ha moment that I had was learning that the nucleus can and will release protons and neutrons in order to create stability, which is part of the process of radioactive decay. #msmithchem
I did not know that the process of changing one element or isotope to another is known as transmutation. It is interesting that, within a certain process, an element can completely change form. #msmithchem
@GluckMateo Yes, I found that interesting that the number of protons is the atomic number, which differentiates each element of the periodic table. #msmithchem
An ah - ha moment that I had was learning that since neutrons do not have any charge, they don’t change the properties of an atom. Because of this, their neutrality allows them to create a balance within the atoms. @mlestersmith#msmithchem
I found it interesting and amazing that we are able to know so much about the tiny atoms that make up everything on earth. The influential discoveries of early scientists were able to make impacts and shape the future of science as a whole. @mlestersmith#msmithchem
