Baseball Respect The Red Award Winner:
Danny Baker
Danny treats everyone, especially his teammates, in a respectful manner. He represents PCHS and the PC Community in a prideful manner, he understands the privilege it is to be PC Redskin on and off the field.
With the weight of the world on his shoulders, President Trump acted for the betterment of humanity. For the next few hours spare us the arm chair quarterbacking and instead trust our Commander in Chief.
Just so we are clear, this FBI needs no one’s permission to enforce the constitution. My responsibility is to the American people, not political punch lines. LA is under siege by marauding criminals, and we will restore law and order. I’m not asking you, I’m telling you.
Some wisdom for young coaches.
I was a Head Coach at 26. A Principal at 33. I’ve been doing both for the last 13 years.
I have learned a lot about coaching and leadership;
Here are 9 of the most important lessons learned:
1: PLAYERS, NOT PLAYS
In pressure situations, players win games, not plays. It’s easy to overthink a “play,” but in reality, you need the ball in the hands of the player who will make the right play.
2: LEARN THE 20-40-60 RULE ASAP
The sooner you learn this, the better:
In your 20s → You worry about what others think.
In your 40s → You stop caring what others think.
In your 60s → You realize no one was thinking about you anyway.
3: PLAY THE LONG GAME WITH CULTURE
Culture is what you allow, what you emphasize, and what you do every day. It’s a long game, but it’s also fragile. Every decision you make shapes your culture.
4: RELATIONSHIPS FIRST
Coaching is about leading people, and leadership is always about relationships. Never lose sight of this, people first.
5: SIMPLICITY WINS
Can you explain your offensive or defensive philosophy in 8 words or less? You should. And your players should be able to as well. Simple wins.
6: GIVE UP SOME CONTROL
As a young coach, I tried to control everything. I coached basketball like football, play-by-play. I’ve since learned to teach players how to play, not control every move. It’s more enjoyable, and success has followed.
7: FIND A GREAT MENTOR
I was lucky, I had a 30-year coaching legend as my assistant coach. His wisdom was priceless.
One time, I faced a tough decision with a player/parent. I was firm on principle, but unsure about handling it. Having a mentor made all the difference. Find one.
8: CONNECT WITH COACHING COLLEAGUES
Coaching is hard. The skill set needed is massive, and at times, it can feel like an island. Build real relationships with other coaches. Those friendships will be lifelong and priceless.
9: FAMILY FIRST
Don’t lose sight of your time. Don’t lose sight of your commitment. Your family will always be more important than your job.
And done right, raising kids in a coaching household has incredible rewards.
So just this weekend, Trump:
- mediated a peace between India and Pakistan
- announced a trade deal with China
- made progress on freeing an American hostage from Hamas
This is exactly what I voted for.
BOYS BASKETBALL – RESPECT THE RED AWARD:
Martez Wilson
Martez comes to practice every day with his lunch box. Works hard, has a positive attitude and is a joy to coach. He represents everything our program wants in a student athlete. He also participates in football and track.
Tariffs are not the story!
Since Trump took office in Jan 2025, the 10-year yield has dropped from 4.79% to 4.17%. Look how much it’s dropped today!
That 0.62% drop may not sound like much—until you realize the U.S. has $36.5 trillion in debt.
This is stealth refinancing on a historic scale.
Lower yields = trillions in interest savings.
More breathing room. Less inflationary pressure.
And the market is front-running it.
Everyone’s watching tariffs.
But this yield curve shift?
It’s the real game.
Trump isn’t just cutting spending—
he’s restructuring America’s balance sheet in real time.
I am understanding middle school bball a lot more now. U truly have to take the developmental approach. The teams that win are bigger stronger & aggressive. In HS it all levels out. Trust me on that. Just help kids improve.A few years from now, no one remembers middle school ball
Youth sports are out of control.
I was the 9th overall pick in the MLB Draft.
I played professionally for more than 10 years.
Here is how I am navigating youth sports as a parent to four kids:
Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are better than all of the racebaiting media who cover them and try to divide sports fans with petty racial drama. Good for both of them. Two of the four best QBs in the NFL.
