Excited to cheer the Jazz on in Portland with my little family. Only thing that would make it better? Rocking that sweet hat @DwyaneWade had on tonight 👀😂 @RyanQualtrics
I’ve been to at least one Jazz game every season since 2007.
Last July, my wife and I moved to Seattle for work. In December, we welcomed our baby girl.
Wasn’t sure we’d make it to a game this year… but we just grabbed tickets to see the Jazz in Portland.
In a couple weeks, my 3-month-old will be at her first Jazz game -and a new streak begins.
From watching games growing up to now bringing my own daughter, it’s pretty surreal. I’m grateful for the memories already made and excited for many more to be made with my girls.
Yeah, Adam Silver needs to be questioned on this during his All-Star availability.
Fining a team for altering a late-game rotation, which resulted in a win, and a win in which the Jazz's roster outscored the opponent, is a slippery slope the NBA should be wary of embarking on.
"...the Jazz removed two of the team's top players...before the beginning of the 4Q and did not return them to the game"
1) Ok so if Will Hardy sits Markkanen the entire 3Q and plays him in the 4Q instead, is that acceptable?
2) They won that Heat game!
3) They won that Heat game because Brice Sensabaugh is nails and came through with several big shots. Is he not permitted to be the focal point of an offense without the presence of 'stars' on the floor concurrently?
I have more questions now than before they addressed/penalized this.
A lot of people are big mad about this. I’ve looked at the 4Q of Utah’s last two games and the bulk of the mins are - their last 2 lottery picks who undoubtedly need developmental mins (Ace Bailey & Cody Williams), 2 other recent 1sts who are rotation guys that can always use more mins (Brice Sensabaugh & Isaiah Collier) and Filipowski, a recent 2nd who is a rotation player/part time starter. It’s one thing for the league to intervene w/ multi-week end of season player shutdowns for not serious injuries but mandating how coaches choose rotations or punishing them because they didn’t play the “right rotations” is crazy talk.
The NBA (and fans!) should be thrilled abt Utah's approach. Playing Lauri & JJJ for three quarters is 100000% better for the "product" than telling us they have a sore right third metatarsal and need a month off.
Like... we know what they're doing, but isn't this a BETTER way?!
Didn’t see nobody trippin when the Thunder were tanking.
Same thing with the 76ers, Pistons, Spurs, Rockets, Magic, or Blazers.
Miss me with that selective outrage.
@HPbasketball The sudden outrage when the Jazz start doing what teams have been doing for years is weird. In 2018 Marc Gasol had 28 points on 11-12 shooting and 6-7 from 3 in a game vs the Jazz and was pulled from the game after 23 minutes to ensure they lost to improve draft positioning.
