@JasonWattBCC@j_stock_@Cdn4Nortel@MarkMcGrathCFP At a retainer of $3,000/year, an advisor can make a really good living with 80-100 clients, while providing a high level of attention to every client.
The client can get really good advice for $3K/year + between .20 and .50% depending how they choose to invest.
@JasonWattBCC@j_stock_@Cdn4Nortel@MarkMcGrathCFP The mass affluent segment can be well served by a combo of advice only planning via one time plan or retainer engagements, coupled with a robo-advisor or self-directed single asset allocation ETF.

@JasonWattBCC@CanadaTaxGuy@Hintonburgooner For sure - the contract quality is generally not as good in my experience, and I might argue the contracts aren't as well understood given there is less focus on those professions.
@JasonWattBCC@CanadaTaxGuy@Hintonburgooner Good clarification Jason. I was referring to professional series policies (RBC Ins. and Canada Life) which the bulk of my experience is with.
@CanadaTaxGuy@Hintonburgooner If you're an owner operator or an incorporated professional, it doesn't matter. The insurer will look at your corporate net income in determining insurable income. If you income split with a spouse but it's clear the corp. income was generated by you, they'll even add that back.
